Add the explicit experimental v2-plaintext subagent mode: V2 catalog pins with the global override off, canonical ChatGPT request compilation, and task-retention acknowledgment at GUI/CLI/API entry. Default-off behavior, the independent legacy flag, child-count units, unsupported-child refusal and native-history boundaries remain covered. Existing ciphertext is not decrypted; disabling compilation retains copies already stored.
The owner accepted the feature and retention behavior. Local retained response IDs remain bound to the admitted caller principal and the request's own thread. A restart requires full client replay because admission principals are process-local. The existing authors' commits and the earlier maintainer carry are preserved.
Current review follow-up — 52c4e910c9dc9e8ef0b12b133ee2daa2d160b273
Addresses the five follow-up review comments without changing mode selection or replay authority. Six additional locale integration guides now state the admitted-caller/own-thread replay requirements; English and Korean CLI synopses include v2-plaintext and its acknowledgment flag; Turkish uses task-handoff wording. Human status describes agents.max_depth as ignored by V2 sessions, including catalog-pin V2 when the global flag is off.
The consent parser table now passes complete argument arrays and asserts both CliUsageError and each expected message. Removing the duplicate-consent guard produces the expected one failing row (three controls pass); the parser was restored byte-for-byte before final validation. A new pin-driven status case failed on the old explanation and passes after the wording fix.
Native Windows with pinned Bun 1.4.4 and isolated Job-contained homes: 125 CLI tests pass / 627 assertions, typecheck 2,255 files, full GUI 3,722 pass / 35,408 assertions, GUI lint/i18n/build and structure/privacy/file-size gates pass. Documentation build: 633 pages / 91,441 internal links. The source parser is unchanged in the committed diff. Independent read-only review found no concrete blockers. CI 41172973808 then found one remaining old depth-label assertion in codex-v2-gate.test.ts; direct execution reproduced that failure. Test-only follow-up 63871cb updates that assertion, and the complete integration file passed 132 tests / 568 assertions with typecheck and the file-size gate. The product, GUI and documentation bytes are unchanged from 691fcda, so their passing checks were not repeated. Exact 63871cb CI 41173810025 passed. Docs-only 52c4e910 then replaces key-presence wording with the actual admitted-caller-principal requirement in all eight integration guides; its 633-page / 91,441-link build passed. Current 52c4e910 Cross-platform CI 41174751553 passed (14 successful jobs / 10 policy skips); React Doctor 41174751558 and Catalog 41174751525 also passed. All review threads are resolved and the PR remains open, Ready and mergeable. Policy skips are not native Windows/macOS success; maintainer/security and installed-app/live-provider acceptance remain separate. 691fcda CI is retained as failed historical evidence.
Integration and regression coverage
The ordinary merge of dev 86b72a68 preserves plaintext acknowledgment together with asynchronous CLI selection admission and commit-time configuration reload. Consent is rechecked after admission: an idempotent request cannot silently enter plaintext mode after another writer changes mode. A newly incompatible v2 on reports the remedy before native or proxy writes.
At integration cb350fda, pinned Bun 1.4.4 / isolated Windows coverage passed 150 CLI/admission tests / 764 assertions, 359 core/consumer tests / 1,873 assertions, layout 29 / 579, full GUI 3,722 / 35,408, typecheck 2,255 files and docs 633 pages / 91,441 links. Removing the post-admission consent recheck failed the negative control; production bytes were restored before final validation.
Earlier replay corrections retain only a content-free loopback principal lost by header filtering and revalidate it each turn against current credentials/pending rotation. Revocation cannot transfer ownership to another bearer; raw local keys are not forwarded. Tests cover caller/own-thread isolation, key revocation/rotation, Bearer precedence, and physical HTTP/WS mock isolation. The final earlier affected-file run passed 394 tests / 1,930 assertions. Historical hosted CI40821168495 passed 57,476 tests / 649 conditional skips, including the previously failing replay/WS, Go and fixture cases; it is not current-head evidence.
Limits and remaining acceptance
Full root tests were not repeated locally under the documented resource exception; exact-head hosted CI supplies broader coverage. No assertions, timeouts, guards or workflow gates were weakened.
Earlier failed broad/fixture runs remain failures, not passing evidence. The later named successful runs supersede their pending status, not their historical outcome. Earlier diagnostic evidence.
Historical Windows validation covers four cases / 23 assertions only. Installed Codex/DSH full-history recovery, live-provider and Windows/macOS Desktop acceptance remain unverified.
Prior feature/retention approval is preserved; current-head independent maintainer/security acceptance remains separate from CI success and resolved inline threads.

Historical visual evidence
EN/KO synthetic consent-component renders from 9b18cfb08b, not current-head captures.
Added an experimental V2 plaintext task-delivery mode in the dashboard and CLI, available after explicit acknowledgment. It selects V2 for new chats without enabling the global V2 override. HTTPS and authentication remain enabled, but task text may be retained in history, provider requests, and local debug data.
Eligible requests from existing V2 sessions can also use plaintext delivery while the compiler is enabled. Existing encrypted messages and stored history are not decrypted or rewritten, and disabling the feature does not remove retained copies.
Security
Local response replay now requires the same admitted caller and the request’s own nonblank thread ID. Clients that cannot meet these requirements must resend the full conversation without a previous response ID.
Documentation
Updated multilingual guides and configuration references with mode details, replay requirements, and limitations.
Select V2 through model catalog pins while enabling the existing plaintext task-message compiler. Require explicit CLI/API/UI acknowledgement, preserve legacy preferences and existing chat history, and verify runtime support and write receipts.

Walkthrough
The PR adds an acknowledged v2-plaintext mode for eligible task messages and binds local Responses continuation state to the admitted caller and the request’s own thread ID. It updates CLI, API, GUI, response-state persistence, tests, and documentation.
Configuration and catalog handling accept v2-plaintext and pin catalog rows to V2 while leaving the global V2 override disabled. CLI and API entry require acknowledgement and report mode state. The compiler recognizes either this mode or the independent plaintext setting. Documentation describes the mode’s scope and data handling.
GUI consent and mode selection gui/src/components/PlaintextV2ConsentModal.tsx, gui/src/pages/*, gui/src/subagent-surface.ts, gui/src/i18n/*, gui/tests/*
The GUI offers the mode when the server reports support, stages selection for consent, validates the API receipt before updating state, and displays the enabled status. Tests and translations cover the consent flow and mode handling.

Summary
Replay ownership and persistence src/responses/state.ts, src/responses/state/*, src/responses/spill-store.ts, tests/responses/responses-replay-owner-storage.test.ts
Response state stores replay-owner metadata across resident entries, spills, and snapshots. Replay checks the owner and thread before loading spilled state.
Request handling derives replay ownership from the admitted caller and request thread-id. WebSocket handling can retain a principal when header filtering changes identity and checks that principal against current credentials.
Tests cover caller and thread mismatches, credential changes, persistent state, and authenticated continuations. Documentation states the local replay identity requirements.
No actionable merge-blocking risk remains from the reviewed changes.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title "feat: add opt-in plaintext V2 subagent mode" matches the main change in the changeset. The PR adds an experimental v2-plaintext multi-agent mode. The changes span config types, CLI, server routes, GUI consent flow, and docs, and all of them center on that mode. The title is short, specific, and in a conventional commit format. It does not describe the replay-ownership hardening, which is a secondary change and does not need to appear in the title.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The whole-PR diff includes unrelated shutdown-budget diagnostics. tests/helpers/responses-state-shutdown-budget-child.ts adds timestamped shutdown-budget-phase stderr logging at module setup, fixture setup, ACL entry, state storage, flush, and cleanup. tests/responses/responses-state.test.ts changes the timeout error to include those phase lines. These changes do not implement v2-plaintext, consent, catalog selection, replay ownership, or related documentation. They instrument a pre-existing Windows shutdown test.
Resolution
Remove the phaseStarted, phase helper, and all phase(...) calls from tests/helpers/responses-state-shutdown-budget-child.ts. Restore the original timeout error in tests/responses/responses-state.test.ts: response spill shutdown budget child timed out after ${timeoutMs}ms (${scenario}). If the diagnostics are required, add a directly related coding objective and evidence that requires them.

Scoped intake at 7609a69bee918a6c23c789dd58e1cbbd2d62c492: this is an explicit new catalog/runtime mode plus GUI/CLI/API consent and linked-home compatibility, not merely another spelling of v2. The current hosted CI passes, and the description correctly labels screenshots/fixtures synthetic and leaves real native-to-routed handoff unverified. Keep Draft pending owner product/consent and task-retention disposition; confirm default/legacy-flag independence, cached downgrade refusal, malformed HTTP-200 acknowledgments and rollback against the same head. No live activation, history rewrite, native session or final GUI approval was performed here. The completed CI jobs are evidence only for the selected platforms, not real handoff acceptance.
Confirmed against 7609a69bee918a6c23c789dd58e1cbbd2d62c492; the relevant existing coverage is:
Defaults and the independent legacy flag: the mode and standalone flag are tested independently, including the empty/default configuration and the flag remaining enabled after leaving the mode (activation, leaving the mode). The new mode does not silently change the separately stored flag.
Cached downgrade refusal: a cached v2-plaintext selection does not establish support on the current server. The test holds the new GET pending and verifies that the fourth option remains unavailable, then checks the older response (test).
Malformed HTTP-200 acknowledgments: a receipt with the wrong mode or without ok: true preserves the previous selection, reports an error, and leaves the cache unchanged (behavior test). The shared predicate also rejects missing or weakened fields (predicate coverage).
Rollback: the catalog round trip restores recorded origins (test); a failed feature transition returns 502 without changing the in-memory mode or persisted config.json bytes (test). This is configuration/catalog rollback coverage, not a promise to downgrade existing native thread histories.
Hosted CI is now complete with no failed or pending checks; skipped platform jobs remain unverified. These are fixture/unit/DOM-harness results. A fresh native session using catalog-only V2 through a live ChatGPT-to-routed-provider handoff is still unvalidated. The separate V1-to-V2 resume experiment does not establish that handoff contract.
Keeping Draft for the owner product/consent and task-retention disposition and the remaining handoff validation. No live activation, history rewrite, or final GUI acceptance is claimed.
Additional bounded native evidence for the catalog selection contract at 7609a69bee918a6c23c789dd58e1cbbd2d62c492:
Installed Codex 0.163.0-alpha.10.2 was run with an isolated home, no authentication file, a loopback-only mock Responses provider, plugins disabled, and global multi_agent_v2=false. Effective configuration was read back before permitting a model request.
A full gpt-5.5 catalog row, changing only its synthetic slug and multi_agent_version to v2, exposed the actual collaboration/spawn_agent tool with task_name; the native parent TurnContext was v2.
A separate one-spawn fixture created a native child. The returned task name matched the linked child's agent path, the child received the task in an agent_message, and both parent and child recorded V2 contexts and completed turns. The parent also recorded the child's SubAgentActivity/completed item. This used three mock model requests (two parent, one child); no real provider model was called.
The first handoff checker timed out because it expected a nonexistent child_task_complete event and a conventional user-message task. Its FAIL receipt is preserved. Read-only verification of the already completed raw rollouts established the claims above using the actual event/message contract; no native turns were replayed to obtain a PASS.
The parent finished before the child's completed activity arrived, so the parent model consuming the child's final answer was not observed. This was native-to-mock validation, not the OpenCodex compiler path or a real ChatGPT-to-external-provider handoff. The child message retained its native encrypted content; no decryption or live-account operation was involved. Classic tool rows also do not establish code_mode_only/Responses Lite behavior. These remain separate validation gaps, so this evidence does not justify marking the PR ready. Live Codex/OpenCodex configuration hashes were unchanged across these runs, and all owned native processes exited normally.
The remaining native/compiler/result-delivery path now passes a bounded integration fixture at 7609a69bee918a6c23c789dd58e1cbbd2d62c492.
Installed Codex 0.163.0-alpha.10.2 acted as the real parent/child client against the production OpenCodex handleResponses path under Bun 1.4.2. Both providers terminated at strict loopback mocks; no real provider model was called. Effective configuration was read back before the turn: global V2 off, complete catalog rows pinned to V2, plugins/analytics off, and both request/stream retry budgets explicitly zero.
The canonical request exposed the compiled alias catalog; returned spawn/wait calls were restored to native collaboration calls. The mock explicitly returned encrypted_function_args: [].
The native child recorded readable task input_text. Its routed wire request contained the task and no agent_message, encrypted-content part, or omission placeholder.
After native wait, the next parent request contained the actual child-authored, parent-addressed final answer in agent_message/input_text. This was not inferred from a generic tool-result string. Both native turns completed with V2 contexts.
Four mock model requests completed (three canonical, one routed), with no blocked egress or guard violations. Live config/source hashes remained unchanged, both owned processes exited normally, and an independent process/listener readback found no residue.
The earlier failed fixtures are preserved: one lacked the explicit local-provider allowance; the next mismatched the adapter's default /v1/responses path. A construction-only preflight now verifies the actual URL/auth rules before launch, and the new run used fresh homes rather than replaying completed turns.
Still unverified: real ChatGPT acceptance of the alias/plaintext-task contract, a real routed provider, modern code-mode/Responses Lite execution, and final GUI/owner product-consent/task-retention acceptance. This closes the classic native-to-production-compiler-to-mock handoff gap, not the live-provider gap. Keeping Draft; no live activation or history rewrite.
Follow-up intake at 7609a69bee918a6c23c789dd58e1cbbd2d62c492 against dev 79fa97be6e6ae974ccd31d9aeedc2da96a0baa73. The new same-head native parent/child plus production handleResponses/compiler loopback receipt materially narrows the earlier handoff uncertainty. It demonstrates that particular Codex build/configured catalog/compiler/result-delivery fixture; it is not a paid upstream or arbitrary installed-build guarantee. Preserve default-off explicit consent at CLI/API/GUI, capability rejection for old children, no decryption of historical agent messages, and configured-versus-proven status. This remains Draft for the owner's experimental-mode/UI decision and independent plaintext-retention boundary review; no settings, user transcript or live agent were changed here.
Current-head native validation passed at 043fb3d7f960c945088d806f3ddc46e0286403c9, using installed Codex 0.163.0-alpha.11 and Bun 1.4.3.
The fixture rebuilt the production handleResponses path from this head and used isolated homes and strict loopback mock providers. Effective configuration was checked before the turn: global V2 off, V2 catalog rows, plugins/analytics off, HTTP/SSE transport and both retry budgets zero.
The real native parent created /root/probe_child, waited, and consumed the child-authored result addressed back to the parent. Both threads recorded V2 and exactly one error-free task completion.
The child made one actual native exec call. Its matching output appeared before its final answer; the routed function-call representation was restored to the native custom-tool contract and returned through the production adapter.
Five mock model requests completed, including two routed child requests. Current Responses Lite catalogs and the parent alias compiler were observed. This run made zero real provider calls.
Source, live configuration and protected input hashes stayed unchanged. Both owned processes exited normally; process handles and the Job closed, with zero active Job processes and no remaining proxy/mock listeners.
The component receipt SHA-256 is d123c2c0f576a8c911c1275ab78854d4a2689696be8425d6d3caf066f50b19ad; the current bundle SHA-256 is 0d41db45efca0da083cb057232be27a302526cbec4a00b52006641428f395224. Earlier harness failures stopped before any native turn and were preserved separately; they were not counted as passing component runs.
This refresh closes the current-head native parent/child/tool/result-delivery fixture gap. Real ChatGPT or routed-provider acceptance, WebSocket transport, and arbitrary installed builds remain separate claims. Keeping Draft for the owner's experimental-mode/UI decision and independent plaintext-retention boundary review, as requested; no live activation or history rewrite.
Distinguish new-session catalog pins from request-time compilation in every registered GUI locale, CLI output and documentation. Cover an existing V2 request before, during and after activation, including retained continuation messages after opt-out. Runtime policy and compiler behavior are unchanged.
Current head is a3f2e7eeedfce041f4a66fddc6e29a7b6267e422, pushed as a normal fast-forward; Draft is unchanged. This test-only follow-up replaces the stale CLI wording assertion found by automatic CI at 9b18cfb08b and explicitly distinguishes hybrid v2 from acknowledged v2-plaintext, alongside their common request-scope and retention explanation.
Pinned Bun 1.4.3 ran both complete CLI files: 120 passed, with one existing native root-slot translation case exceeding the default 5-second timeout. That case alone passed under a 15-second limit (1 passed, 20 assertions, 7.19 seconds). No assertion failure remained. Exact-head automatic CI is tracked in the PR checks. Production/GUI/docs source is identical to 9b18cfb08b; prior 65 checks, gates and screenshots were not repeated.
The retention review found that “applies to new sessions” conflated two scopes. Catalog pins affect new sessions; the enabled compiler also processes subsequent eligible canonical ChatGPT requests from existing V2 sessions. All 11 registered GUI locales, CLI and docs now make that distinction and state that disabling does not delete retained copies. Existing ciphertext is not decrypted and stored history is not rewritten; runtime policy is unchanged.
The new production-handler regression reuses an existing-V2 request through OFF → ON → OFF, checks the actual outbound declarations and retained continuation content, and uses a strict fetch stub. The current correction passed 65 focused checks plus type/structure/privacy/metadata/ratchet, GUI build and docs build. Four installed-browser headless layout/initial-state cases also passed; current PNGs remain local, unuploaded. The old a1dd3a7 screenshot is explicitly marked historical.
This resolves the reported disclosure-scope finding, not the separately reserved owner product/UI decision or real ChatGPT/provider acceptance. Earlier native fixtures remain attributed to their original heads; the installed OpenCodex 2.89.0 Devin observation remains separate. Keeping Draft under the owner's disposition. No manual CI, live configuration change, paid native/provider call or Security Cloud scan was performed.
Owner decision: accepted — the opt-in plaintext V2 subagent mode is approved as a product feature, including the documented retention behavior (disabling it does not delete copies already retained). Remaining before merge: update the branch onto current dev (it conflicts now), refresh Verification for the new head, and complete the readiness boxes; a maintainer will then review the changed CI/package.json surface and approve PR CI.
Use the shared mode resolver while preserving retained native priorities.
The focused regression fails with the pre-fix resolver and passes after.

Pushed ordinary carry fix a57fdcc, with Co-authored-by: Epinephrine <27862058+luvs01@users.noreply.github.com>. The existing dev merge through b16bc09 is retained; no rebase/force-push or PR merge occurred. The branch was one commit behind the current dev tip at handback.
Recording and replay now bind the trusted admitted caller plus the request's own thread. Direct/combo ingress checks that binding before opening spills or dispatching; snapshots/spills carry it, colliding response IDs cannot replace another owner, and unbound entries fail closed. Missing identities do not create local replay state. A proxy restart requires full client replay because admission principals are process-local. The overlap algorithm moved to a sibling file under the ratchet. Existing replay fixtures now take real synthetic admission without removing assertions; the legacy entry assertion now requires refusal and no leaked history.
RED on 9216be9278: bun test --isolate --timeout 60000 tests/server/response-replay-ownership.test.ts gave 2 pass / 6 fail (the three attacks each returned 200 in plaintext and non-plaintext controls). The storage regression command gave 0 pass / 6 fail. After the fix, the expanded two ownership files contribute 35 pass / 0 fail in the focused runs, including direct/combo positive controls, missing identifiers, same-thread/different-caller refusal, collisions, snapshots/spills, and refusal before a corrupt spill is read.
Validation used Bun 1.4.4, OCX_TEST_NO_QUEUE=1, serial test processes and frozen installs:

Bind provider rotation, Kiro refusal, and Claude HTTP replay fixtures to synthetic admission and stable own-thread identities. Retain every assertion and require reasoning isolation after key rotation.
Co-authored-by: Epinephrine <27862058+luvs01@users.noreply.github.com>
Ordinary merge 14e39a174a74e62517deec481982c150aaa84416 brings in dev@d2a3186d38978c072d678200c76b70514eeefe38.
Fix 3b87caf778be5ea35077b5561b61a6bbce805e2a migrates the three remaining replay fixtures to the existing synthetic-admission helper and stable own-thread headers. The key-pool expectation additionally requires stripReasoning: true after rotation. Every existing assertion remains. No production file, ownership gate, foreign/unbound refusal control or timeout was changed. Both commits credit Epinephrine / @luvs01.
All eight failures named by CI run 40789752619 reproduced before the fixture changes on merged head 14e39a174: 0 pass / 8 fail, 46 assertions.

Codex/DSH Responses and Pi Chat retain host-owned tools, inclusive usage and abort cleanup
FAIL: HTTP 400 previous_response_not_found
Original 400 cleared; file still FAILS later. First migrated run reached abort cleanup (expected 5 closed children, received 4); latest diagnostic reached continuation output (expected fixture text, received []). Another diagnostic hit cleanup timeout. Cause remains unestablished.
The HTTP fixture's server calls the handler directly, bypassing ingress admission. Supplying real synthetic admission fixes that fixture boundary. This did not establish a production client identity defect. Temporary HTTP diagnostics and an unsuccessful stream-handshake experiment were removed; no passing run is claimed for that file.
Verification used Bun 1.4.4, $env:OCX_TEST_NO_QUEUE='1', and one test process at a time:
Main PR focus: 429 pass / 0 fail, 2,133 assertions, including all 35 ownership regressions (28 handler / 7 storage). Same-owner positives and foreign/unbound refusals remain green.
Completed replay compatibility files: union 1,561 pass / 3 fail / 2 existing skips, 27 files. The first batch was interrupted; only completed-file evidence is counted. Completing its unfinished file plus the remaining four files returned 484 pass / 0 fail, 3,161 assertions. Three failures are in unchanged tests/responses/responses-state.test.ts: Windows spill queue advances past never-settling principal and icacls runners; shutdown fallback budget exhaustion is contained by a child watchdog; shutdown terminalization pass guard reports a bounded failure. The coordinator supplied matching base evidence for the exhaustion watchdog. The other two are not classified as inherited here. No rerun to green and no changes to these cases.
bun run typecheck: exit 0, 2,230 files. bun run structure:index, bun run structure:check, bun scripts/file-size-ratchet.ts, bun run privacy:scan, bun run --cwd gui build, bun run lint:gui, git diff --check: exit 0. Main layout remains 1,999 lines; regenerated structure index has no diff.
Exact commands, scope and historical visual evidence are in the updated PR description. The targeted before/after command is:
bun test --isolate --timeout 60000 tests/adapters/terminal-continuation-owner-rotation.test.ts tests/oauth/generic-oauth-refusal-composition.test.ts tests/providers/claude-cli-client-http.test.ts
Proposed status: BLOCKED; keep draft. Seven of the eight named tests are green, the original HTTP admission failure is fixed, and local validation still has four failing test cases. Hosted exact-head CI is reported as observed by the coordinator; this comment does not claim it passed. The supplied round-2 security disposition was zero open findings and a cleared ownership boundary; this fixture-only lane performs no new independent security review.
NOT RUN:bun run test (owner-required full-suite exception for parallel Windows carry), full GUI suite, test:changed, live-provider/native Codex acceptance, Linux/macOS runtime validation, docs build, new independent security review, completed exact-head hosted CI. No PR merge, rebase, force-push, Git config change, label change, workflow dispatch, fork approval or CI rerun was performed. The full $goat-discipline payload was unavailable; supplied discipline and installed development/PowerShell guidance were followed.
Use the same exact response ID for caller-owned history and provider continuation lookup. Add the paired regression and correct the documented admission requirement for keyless clients.
Add content-free shutdown phase diagnostics without changing the 3000 ms watchdog. Preserve the maintainer's continuation-fixture fixes at 3b87caf.
Pushed normal fast-forward 83fe2e6 on top of the maintainer's 3b87caf. I rechecked the head before publication and dropped all duplicate changes to the three CI fixture files.
The remaining ten-file follow-up preserves the exact authorized response ID through combo provider-state lookup, adds its paired regression, corrects the keyless local-replay guidance, and adds content-free shutdown phase diagnostics without changing the 3,000 ms watchdog or ownership guards.
Final Linux focus on the published tree: 221 pass / 0 fail, 1,430 assertions across seven files; layout 2 pass; both shutdown scenarios 2 pass in separate targeted executions. Typecheck (2,230 files), structure/ratchet/privacy/diff checks and docs build (601 pages, 87,065 links) passed.
Independent final-diff source review found no remaining blocking finding. It was read-only, with no independent test rerun or external scan; new-head maintainer security acceptance is still pending.
The latest maintainer's Windows results remain material: spill-queue principal/icacls, exhaustion watchdog, terminalization guard, and later Claude HTTP continuation/abort failures are not closed by this Linux run. The new fixed markers should distinguish startup/first ACL/flush/cleanup delay at the next native run.
Default keyless Codex/DSH configurations do not supply the admitted identity required by local retained replay. Actual installed-client full-history recovery was not tested.
The description separates this follow-up from the maintainer's preceding native validation. New-head CI 40797372128 is pending; initial Catalog/React checks were queued. Keeping Draft. No merge, force push, deployment, permission change, manual CI approval/dispatch/rerun, or native success claim.
Preserve only the principal lost when filtering local handshake credentials. Revalidate it against live keys for every turn without forwarding raw keys, changing model admission, or falling back to another bearer after revocation.
Align replay and native-control fixtures with caller/own-thread ownership and bind HTTP compaction mocks to the physical send seam. Add real ingress isolation, revocation, non-disclosure and mock-transport regressions while preserving existing guards and timeouts.
Final affected tests: 394 passed across 10 files. Broader local results and baseline proxy failures are recorded separately in PR verification. Independent immutable-diff source review found no blocking finding; native and maintainer security acceptance remain pending.
Published afb3d1e, a normal fast-forward from 83fe2e6. Latest head/comments were checked before writing; all 15 published blobs match the locally tested files.
The 12 failures in 40797372128 were split by evidence: 4 fixture-only failures; 8 WS failures remained after real key/own-thread setup and exposed an actual product defect. Loopback WS header filtering lost the volunteered caller principal. The correction retains only that lost content-free identity and revalidates it every turn; revoked identity cannot fall back to another bearer. Raw keys, admission/model scope, ownership guards and timeouts are unchanged.
An additional native-steering fixture omission was reproduced on clean 83fe2e6 and corrected. Six broader HTTP compaction failures were separately traced to physical-send mock isolation, then fixed in tests with a no-external-send sentinel.
Final affected-file verification: 394 pass / 0 fail / 0 skip, ten files, 1,930 assertions, Bun 1.4.4/Linux. Typecheck (2,230 files), structure, privacy, size ratchet and whitespace checks passed; layout/size regressions 11 pass. The earlier broad run was 1,519 pass / 1 skip / 15 fail, not a pass: six compaction cases are now included in the passing final run; nine auth cases independently reproduce on pristine baseline because 0.0.0.0 fixture requests receive Envoy 503 connection errors. Their assertions/source/proxy environment were not changed. Full detail and commands are in the refreshed Verification section.
Independent final source review of diff SHA-256 4b775b711f4c175c321a7196520ad917d20c74bd13d7d6571bb0f16d5d77507b found no blocking finding. This is separate from hosted CI, external security review, native OS evidence and maintainer acceptance.
New-head Cross-platform 40805018901 is in progress; Catalog 40805019097 and React Doctor 40805018916 have succeeded. Windows/macOS policy skips are not native success. Existing Windows shutdown/Claude HTTP and installed-client recovery blockers remain. Keeping Draft; no merge, force-push, deployment, permission change or manual CI dispatch/approval/rerun.
The direct-handler matrix supplied neither caller admission nor an own thread while expecting local previous_response_id replay. Give only its continuation driver the existing real synthetic admission helper and a stable own thread per case.
Preserve all 18 model/wire/history combinations, assertions and keyless fresh-route controls. No production source or timeout changes.
Reproduced 18 failures on both clean 83fe2e6 and the afb3d1e-equivalent tree. After correction: 26 file tests and 234 tests across six related Go files passed. Independent one-file source review found no blocking finding.
Opt the one ordinary-successor cache case into a real synthetic caller admission while retaining its own thread and separate upstream bearer. Keep other native steering fixtures keyless by default and preserve all history assertions and wait budgets.
Reproduced the same missing-admission timeout on clean 83fe2e6 and the published 571b3fe-equivalent tree. Full file: 33 passed; related native-control files: 106 passed. Independent one-file source review found no blocking finding.
No product, layout, workflow, permission or timeout change. The inherited layout ratchet issue was already fixed upstream by maintainer PR #7943 and is not duplicated here.
Relocate the three existing replay mappings away from the shared
first line without changing the independent expected mapping.
Preserve registry, runner, assertions and size gates.
Relocate the existing mode resolver import and three replay registry
entries away from shared insertion points. Preserve the model-list
function, complete registration map and all verification gates.
Published 207c3a5, a normal single-parent fast-forward from f317. Current head, maintainer progress and latest dev were rechecked before writing. Both published blobs match the frozen reviewed files, and GitHub reports mergeable=true.
The original 12-case diagnosis and WS correction remain intact. Later Go continuation fixtures (18 cases) and one cached-successor steering fixture were reproduced on their clean baselines and corrected without weakening ownership, assertions or timeouts. The maintainer's #7943 size fix was preserved; our overlapping candidate was dropped.
Executed previous-head evidence:f317 run 40819027921, actual checkout 0c40c642 on dev@e3ebd82a, completed all four Linux shards successfully: 57,378 pass / 0 fail / 648 conditional skips, 268 general batches. Logs confirm the original 12+8 failures, Go matrix 18, steering case (whole file 33), capacity 16, HTTP isolation 4 and layout gates actually passed. Other executed jobs also succeeded, but the final aggregate was still runner-queued when the next head was published. This is not an overall workflow-success claim; automatic supersession/final status is separate.
The latest dev advances produced two textual conflicts. This final two-file +3/−3 carry only relocates an existing mode-resolver import and three existing replay registrations. Function bodies, configuration, guards, runner, duration table, assertions and size caps are unchanged. Both file-level three-way checks are clean against dev@8a6cea9c; all 2,758 head mappings remain identical, and the 2,772-entry merged registry equals the head/dev union and independent golden. Upstream native-omission and advisor behavior are preserved.
Local verification for this final carry: model-list 2 pass, layout/tooling/ratchet 38 pass, typecheck 2,230 files, whitespace check pass. Independent read-only source review of delta 271edaeace38c75d882caec7343ad62e7fc6ebcfdd6ac1c50666df97a49af551 found no blocking finding; it is not a native run or formal maintainer-security acceptance.
Still Draft. Windows principal/icacls, the unchanged 3,000 ms shutdown watchdog/terminalization, later Claude HTTP native behavior, installed Codex/DSH recovery and explicit new-head security acceptance remain separate. No merge, force-push, deployment, permission change, manual workflow dispatch/rerun/approval or direct CI cancellation was performed.
Final exact-head CI update — 2026-10-29 05:46 UTC
Head remains 207c3a5e4add6d43ff1ffffb51449958df348384. Cross-platform 40821168495, Catalog 40821168434 and React Doctor 40821168528 all completed successfully. The final aggregate actually succeeded, superseding the 05:44 queued observation: 14 successful jobs / 10 policy skips.
The four Ubuntu shards completed 269 general batches, 57,476 pass / 0 fail / 649 conditional skips, 725,046 assertions, on actual merge f6cd7358 with dev 8a6cea9c. The original 12+8, Go18, corrected native-steering1 (whole file33), capacity16, HTTP-isolation4 and layout/golden/ratchet checks all actually passed. No manual rerun, approval or cancellation was performed. Current-head native Windows/macOS, the unchanged 3,000ms shutdown behavior, installed Codex/DSH recovery and explicit maintainer/security acceptance remain open. The PR body records this new-head success separately from the cancelled prior-head workflow.
Windows follow-up on unchanged head 207c3a5e4add6d43ff1ffffb51449958df348384 completed locally on Windows 11 x64 (10.0.26300), using Bun 1.4.4.
Focused case
Result
Shutdown fallback exhaustion
PASS, 756 ms; the original 3,000 ms child watchdog was retained
Never-settling principal and icacls runners
PASS, 5.33 s; both modes exercised
Shutdown terminalization guard
PASS, 588 ms
Claude CLI Responses/Chat continuation and abort cleanup
PASS, 1.95 s; synthetic CLI children and loopback HTTP
The three valid invocations returned native exit 0 with stdout/stderr EOF. Their totals were 1/1, 2/2 and 1/1 tests (23 assertions altogether); owned parent/child absence was checked afterward. No assertions, timeouts, product code or security guards were changed. Two earlier harness/selection attempts were excluded from these results.
Commands from the checkout root:
bun test --isolate ./tests/responses/responses-state.test.ts --test-name-pattern="shutdown fallback budget exhaustion is contained by a child watchdog"
bun test --isolate ./tests/responses/responses-state.test.ts --test-name-pattern="Windows spill queue advances past never-settling principal and icacls runners|shutdown terminalization pass guard reports a bounded failure"
bun test --isolate ./tests/providers/claude-cli-client-http.test.ts
CI and OCX_TEST_NO_QUEUE were unset; the repository preload, isolated homes and test lock remained enabled. The reused dependency store matches the runtime lock entries; its older Bun declaration packages mean this is runtime-test evidence, not a fresh locked install or typecheck.
The previously reported failures did not reproduce in this local, warm-source run. This does not establish their original cause, installed Codex/DSH full-history recovery, live-provider acceptance, or independent security acceptance. No live app/provider request, manual CI dispatch or PR state change was performed.

Summary
Add the explicit experimental
v2-plaintextsubagent mode: V2 catalog pins with the global override off, canonical ChatGPT request compilation, and task-retention acknowledgment at GUI/CLI/API entry.
Current review follow-up —
52c4e910c9dc9e8ef0b12b133ee2daa2d160b273Addresses the five follow-up review comments without changing mode selection or replay authority. Six additional locale integration guides now state the admitted-caller/own-thread replay requirements; English and Korean CLI synopses include
v2-plaintextand its acknowledgment flag; Turkish uses task-handoff wording. Human status describesagents.max_depthas ignored by V2 sessions, including catalog-pin V2 when the global flag is off.The consent parser table now passes complete argument arrays and asserts both
CliUsageErrorand each expected message. Removing the duplicate-consent guard produces the expected one failing row (three controls pass); the parser was restored byte-for-byte before final validation. A new pin-driven status case failed on the old explanation and passes after the wording fix.Native Windows with pinned Bun 1.4.4 and isolated Job-contained homes: 125 CLI tests pass / 627 assertions, typecheck 2,255 files, full GUI 3,722 pass / 35,408 assertions, GUI lint/i18n/build and structure/privacy/file-size gates pass. Documentation build: 633 pages / 91,441 internal links. The source parser is unchanged in the committed diff. Independent read-only review found no concrete blockers. CI
41172973808then found one remaining old depth-label assertion incodex-v2-gate.test.ts; direct execution reproduced that failure. Test-only follow-up63871cbupdates that assertion, and the complete integration file passed 132 tests / 568 assertions with typecheck and the file-size gate. The product, GUI and documentation bytes are unchanged from691fcda, so their passing checks were not repeated. Exact63871cbCI41173810025passed. The ordinary merge of dev
86b72a68preserves plaintext acknowledgment together with asynchronous CLI selection admission and commit-time configuration reload. cb350fda, pinned Bun 1.4.4 / isolated Windows coverage passed 150 CLI/admission tests / 764 assertions, 359 core/consumer tests / 1,873 assertions, layout 29 / 579, full GUI 3,722 / 35,408, typecheck 2,255 files and docs 633 pages / 91,441 links. Removing the post-admission consent recheck failed the negative control; production bytes were restored before final validation.Earlier replay corrections retain only a content-free loopback principal lost by header filtering and revalidate it each turn against current credentials/pending rotation.
