New to openSUSE package ecosystem, I have some questions:
Does this leverage OBS (Open Build Service), and can this be used to target other RPM based distros as well? e.g. RHEL, Rocky and Fedora?
Additionally, is there some way to trigger a rebuilt from our GitHub actions here to fully automate the release cycle #4? e.g. as currently done for Launchpad #28 and the AUR #27?

yes this is open build service.
example for multi distro: https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/graphics:darktable (it can even do deb and arch, rhel clones are available to build against. but depending on the version it gets a bit fun with their module system)
github triggered building for main/master illustrated here https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/graphics:darktable:master
Per PR subproject for testing
https://build.opensuse.org/project/subprojects/graphics:darktable
documentation for the git integration

let me know if you have more questions
damn i just remembered we cant do the auto git trigger stuff here as the authors of cargo_vendor do not want to have it available server side.
