Fix: own core TLS keys and reject failed core initialization - #2859
A2/A3 simulated AICore libraries retain six pthread keys after unload. Ignored core identity or affinity binding errors can also admit a cohort with invalid participants. Onboard, rejecting every AICPU callback is insufficient: the host has already launched AICores, which still need an EXIT/retirement path.
This change gives A2/A3 keys module ownership, following the existing A5 owner from #2785. Checked wrappers bind stack-owned cells before admission; execution-time setters update those cells without fallible pthread writes. The existing sim startup transaction collects core/identity/affinity results, cancels failed launches and joins created threads before releasing their storage. Exit-time unbinding propagates errors and continues attempting the remaining keys.
AICPU affinity uses one retryable module-owned key. A shared binding-cohort component publishes errors to every participant before resetting gate state; backend CPU classification remains separate. Every filter rejection invalidates the current thread's old identity, including invalid parameters and excess participants. Borrowed classification slots must remain intact until prior executors stop reading them, not merely until gate calls return. Internal callback types are declared in one shared header.
Onboard binding rejection preserves native initialization and callback identity. Callback 0 discovers this launch's core reports and runs the existing EXIT/nonce/close/readback/release protocol without affinity TLS or executor initialization, before contributing to invocation completion. Startup EXIT bypasses uninitialized task/profiling state in A2/A3 HBG/TMR and A5 TMR/legacy HBG; A5 resident HBG already supports that exit. Missing reports and ACKs are bounded failures; unreleased cores remain host recovery debt. Callback/result completion alone never authorizes resource reuse.
Module ownership fits AICore keys because threads are joined before module unload. STRACE instead needs its existing resident owner because users can survive consumer unload. This change retains that distinction and the existing thread container. The key budget remains six per A2/A3 AICore image, ten per A5 image, and one per AICPU affinity module; Sim Context retains its resident keys. Normal execution gains no dispatch-loop allocation or pthread writes.
Checked wrapper/helper symbols are internal same-build ABI: rebuild host, AICPU and AICore libraries together. Sim startup errors return PTO_RUNTIME_ERR_INTERNAL; native binding rejection preserves failed callback status. Key/gate retryability does not promise same-Worker recovery after onboard execution failure: SDK error handling can mark the runner unusable and require close/reset. The filter requires exactly the advertised participant count and non-overlapping executions; late excess arrivals after reset remain outside that contract.
Related to #2767; follows merged #2826 and preserves A5 ownership from #2785. Overlaps the A2/A3 key-cleanup portion of #2477. Recorder/capture/prepare ownership is handled separately in #2915; this PR does not close#2767.
Changes since the earlier reviewed head c308c400a: this branch removes the review-skill edit (.claude/skills/review-pr/SKILL.md, no runtime effect) and renames the internal sim-core ABI types and the identity-helper installer symbol to sim_install_core_identity_setters. Only the dlsym name changes; host, AICPU and AICore libraries must come from the same build. Runtime behavior is unchanged.
Validation:
Final commit f3d7376a (base d98b9667b; supersedes c308c400a after the review-skill removal and the internal ABI rename, with no runtime behavior change): local targeted verification passes — 6/6 C++ TLS/affinity targets, clang-format, and -fsyntax-only for both sim device runners. The preceding c308c400a head passed all 468 non-hardware CTest targets, pre-commit, the package build including onboard binaries, and all 43 actual-runtime startup-failure/legacy-ABI Python cases. CI for f3d7376a is running.
Before the clean rebase, both default A2/A3 and A5 simulator ST sweeps passed. Same-Worker key-creation retry is covered for both architectures; this is distinct from onboard execution-error recovery.
Four architecture/runtime C++ targets exercise real simulated core executors, the onboard filter, native completion and retirement. Coverage includes initial clear/final affinity binding failures, stale reports, missing ACKs, and repeated rejected launches. Removing retirement or early startup EXIT makes the regression fail.
Null-unbind injection covers every key position on admitted and cancelled wrappers. Both architectures/runtimes verify returned errors and all remaining cleanup attempts; negative controls that swallow errors or skip cleanup fail all four targets.
A2/A3 board probes on the pre-rebase implementation cover HBG and TMR, with initial-clear and final-bind failures. Production error behavior returns promptly, poisons the runner and closes through confirmed reset. Separate instrumented test SOs verify HBG's real successful retirement via a native marker. TMR's exercised route has no native terminal record, so its physical-exit probe suppresses the SDK callback error only after successful retirement and verifies both real stream synchronizations return zero. Unmodified HBG/TMR examples subsequently pass on the leased device. These test-only wrappers do not change production error policy.
Author self-review follows the repository review-pr skill, including physical exit, borrowed lifetimes and upper-layer retry; the skill file itself is not modified by this PR. This is not independent reviewer approval.
A5 physical-device fault injection and macOS validation remain deferred. New-head remote CI and reviewer approval are still required before merge. Single-key typed context consolidation is a separate optional follow-up.
Scope against main: 50 files, +1872/-242; production code 30 files, +759/-213. No CI workflow changes or inherited #2826 diff. Total churn exceeds 1000; review order: key ownership and borrowed cells, startup admission and affinity identity, onboard rejection retirement, tests and documentation.
The change adds owned TLS state for simulated AICore and AICPU affinity. Checked wrappers and startup gates propagate initialization and binding errors before executor admission. Host runners handle failed startup, and tests cover key cleanup, retries, binding failures, and repeated shared-object loads.

Adds shared TLS state helpers. Sim Context identity-key creation now reports errors and rolls back partial creation. The TLS inventory describes the updated AICPU affinity index and simulator key ownership.
AICore TLS access now uses bound value cells. The checked wrapper reports setup and cleanup errors and gates executor calls. Tests cover TLS key lifecycle, binding errors, and repeated loads.
AICPU affinity indices now use bound cells. Cohort gates report binding errors and reject failed cohorts. Tests cover binding failures, retry behavior, and cohort execution.
Host startup readiness and failure handling src/a2a3/platform/sim/host/device_runner.*, src/a5/platform/sim/host/device_runner.*, src/common/platform/include/host/sim_thread_start_gate.h, tests/ut/py/test_sim_startup_failure.py
Host runners require checked AICore and AICPU binding functions. Workers report readiness to a shared gate, and startup errors prevent execution and are returned by launch.

Explanation
[ #2767 ] A2/A3 module-owned keys and unload/reload tests address the AICore leak. Checked TLS binding and startup gates address related initialization failures. Existing documentation describes a resident STRACE owner. The HBG recorder scratch migration and Linux dynamic verification remain separate. The PR description also leaves recorder and capture/prepare lifetime work separate. The evidence does not establish the full TLS audit or policy enforcement.

@poursoul Requested your review: this reclaims module-owned A2/A3 simulated AICore TLS keys and rejects execution when core identity/affinity TLS initialization fails; the A2/A3 key owner follows the A5 owner introduced by #2785. 14 pass / 1 skip at head 6a6ee88b.
Reclaim module-owned A2/A3 AICore keys and bind wrapper-stack cells
before execution. Collect checked core identity and AICPU affinity
results at the startup gate, then cancel and join failed sim launches.
Use a retryable affinity key and a shared binding-result barrier.
Invalidate prior thread identity before every filter rejection. Keep
borrowed slots alive through execution and share typed SO callbacks.
Onboard rejection retires already-launched AICores without relying on
TLS or executor initialization. Hold callback completion until the
retirement attempt ends; retain host recovery for missing reports or
ACKs. Startup EXIT bypasses uninitialized tasks and profiling state.
Cover reload key budgets, same-Worker key-creation retry, rejection
identity, final affinity binding and exit-time unbind failures. Exercise
real core retirement and native completion across both architectures
and runtimes, with negative controls for missing error/cleanup paths.
Document same-build ABI, resource budgets and recovery limitations.
Require review of physical exit and upper-layer retry contracts.
