The previous port returned ?bool -- an Option, against the port constraints -- and reduced the five literal substitutions to a new_block_len delta whose arithmetic was wrong (12 for a 13-char "Wave Loop 377", 20 for a 22-char "W376 seal regeneration", i += 4 after matching five chars of "w376_", i += 32 for a 28-char "WAVE_LOOP_375_COOPERATION.md"), and never produced the renumbered block the caller is supposed to write. Its matcher also ended blocks at a blank line instead of the invariant line's newline and never checked for "true". This re-authors the port so the decision inside append_w377 is code: the file text arrives as a parameter, the scan mirrors the regex (left to right, non-overlapping, the first newline+invariant whose continuation reaches a true newline), `if not m` and `if wave != 376` skip with the original's reasons, and build_new_block performs the five substitutions in the original's order -- each changes exactly one digit, so the port copies the block and patches those digits. The result is a W377Plan: appended, skip_reason, last_wave, insert_pos (last.end()) and the renumbered block. 8 tests assert the skip decisions, the renumbered bytes, the last-match rule and the matcher edges.
