📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe cargo test task now compares tracked-file status before and after a successful workspace test run and reports tracked paths if they changed. Integration tests run the guard around shell commands and check that tracked-file rewrites fail while writing under Priority: ⬇️ Low Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to The cargo test task can miss tracked-file rewrites in an already-dirty checkout. Compare file contents before merging. Security Architecture ReviewSecurity architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to The new check catches tracked-file changes from a clean checkout, but it can accept a rewrite when the file was already modified. The effect is limited to trust in the test result; no production security boundary change is shown. Retained concerns

Compare tracked file contents, not only status codes.
If RESULTS.md is already modified before the suite, the suite can rewrite it while its porcelain status remains M RESULTS.md. The two snapshots then match, so the guard accepts a changed checkout. Git porcelain status reports a path’s state relative to the index and HEAD; it does not identify its contents. Also, if the suite restores a previously modified file, Line 1344 prints no path because it prints only the final status. Capture tracked-file state before and after the suite, then derive the changed paths from those two snapshots. Add a test with an already-modified tracked file. (git-scm.com)

The sweep splits a #MUTANT row on `|`, and the sed carried the body's `||`, so the row read as five fields and was reported malformed-row: the mutation never ran. The pipes are now bracket expressions, and `MUTANT_TASKS=mise.toml MUTANT_GATES=task-test:cargo batten mutate sweep` reports it caught. Refs: CLOUD-1951
…ckout On #928, bench_tokens rewrote the committed RESULTS.md from a verb whose cwd was the real checkout, and nothing noticed until a later lap's diff. A line predicate over test sources cannot see that (measured: 30 of 30 matches were copies INTO scratch), so test:cargo now compares tracked state before and after the suite and exits 1 naming the paths when they differ. test_cargo_path.rs runs the marked blocks in a scratch repo, rewritten and untouched, and declares suite-tree-write-admitted. Both of the gate's mutations are caught by the sweep. Closes: CLOUD-1953
