@mvertens and @mvdebolskiy I made this change here for noresm, which should do the right thing for you. If you aren't ready for that I can back it out though. I can't test it though, so no guarentee it works. But, it's only one and it looks right to me.

Can we please add a model=cesm attribute for this - since this is now available in the latest version of noresm.

Update the dataset to use for 1850 for cesm3 to a preliminary one.

But, will change answers for components that use DATM and need prescribed aerosols (MOM and CICE I beleive)
