Drupal sites connected to SolrCloud could not authenticate unless the Solr username was typed into the Search API server form by hand. The generated settings supplied only the password, so a server saved without a username sent incomplete credentials.

The generated settings now also set the username to solr, the built-in SolrCloud account that the generated password belongs to. The override still applies only to the Search API server whose machine name matches the linked Solr service.

Changes

  • Set connector_config.username to solr next to the existing password override in the Drupal 8, 9, 10 and 11 settings templates.

Validation

  • Rendered all four templates with gotpl using SOLR_CLOUD_PASSWORD and SOLR_CLOUD_SERVER, linted the output with php -l, and confirmed the resulting search_api.server.solr override contains both username and password.
  • The image test suite was not run.

Release

Takes effect for sites after a new image revision is published and their app is redeployed.

The generated settings only supplied the SolrCloud password, so a Search API
server saved without a username could not authenticate. The password belongs
to the built-in solr account, so set that username alongside it.
