Warning for Linux users that use package managers! #3888

Description

@rxri

Hi,

Since v2.44.0 we have made our wrapper more modular, and removed the spicetifyWrapper.js from the repository. This file is being generated/bundled from files in src/jsHelper/spicetifyWrapper in release stage, meaning, if the package, in this example on AUR, builds spicetify from git and won't run our build-wrapper.mjs script, spicetify won't work properly

What to do?

You can install node and pnpm and run pnpm build:wrapper. PNPM will install dependencies and build the wrapper. After doing this, just run spicetify apply and spicetify should work just fine

Who's affected?

Linux users that use package(s) that build spicetify from source
Homebrew (macOS), chocolatey are unaffected as far as we're aware
new 2026-07-13: Nix package is also affected
