docs(community-management): add Session, Matrix, and SimpleX guides - #607
Conversation
Add account-management guides and community-management framework pages for Session, Matrix, and SimpleX, following the two-layer structure already used for Discord, Telegram, and X. Settings paths and platform behaviours are sourced from vendor documentation and linked under Further reading on each page. Closes security-alliance#599

Did a review, very well written, and aligns with the format of the rest of the documents, and guides.
I'm wondering if this belongs in Community Management long term but it can start here.

Security
- Docs-only change (MDX +
vocs.config.ts+wordlist.txt). No secrets, tokens, eval, or XSS vectors. - External links point at vendor docs (Session, Element/Matrix.org, SimpleX). No suspicious deps.
QA
- Two-layer pattern matches existing Telegram/Signal: community hub (threat model + topic index) → account-management guide (checklists).
- Cross-links and heading anchors line up (recovery/cross-signing, SOGS/E2EE split, SimpleX link rotation, etc.).
- Sidebar (
vocs.config.ts), both overviews, and folderindex.mdxfiles updated; wordlist covers Draupnir/Mjolnir/Orbot/SOGS/XFTP. - CI green: lint, Build Preview, sidebar-reminder, Socket.
Nits (non-blocking)
guides/account-management/overview.mdxpage description still lists older platforms only; body list is updated.reviewed/fact-checkedfrontmatter left empty (fine for external contrib; maintainers can fill on merge).
LGTM. Approving.
Summary
Adds security documentation for three privacy-focused messaging platforms — Session, Matrix, and SimpleX — following
the two-layer structure already used for Discord, Telegram, and X.
Closes #599.

Why the platform-specific angle
Each platform is covered on its own terms rather than as a variation on Signal, because the failure modes differ:
password is the account, and Communities running on a Session Open Group Server are not end-to-end encrypted.
holds a copy of it. Encryption is per room and per device, which makes cross-signing an operational control rather
than a nicety.
identity, so backup discipline and link rotation replace the account-recovery and ban primitives operators expect.
Sourcing
Settings paths and platform behaviours were taken from vendor documentation rather than from memory, and each page
links its sources under Further reading: Session Docs and the Session security blog, Element documentation and the
Matrix.org moderation guide, and the SimpleX privacy, app settings, and groups guides. Where client UI labels differ
between platforms or releases (notably Element's
Security & Privacy→Encryptionrename), the pages say so andpoint to the vendor documentation for current paths.
