Signed-in listeners can now start five free sessions per UTC day before needing paid credit. The allowance is shared across Nixamp paid panels and upgrades; translated audio is the current paid upgrade. A free session continues while listening, within existing usage limits, with a 90-second reconnect grace period and no timed cutoff. Ongoing sessions continue across midnight.
PostgreSQL atomically counts starts across tabs and server instances. Free speech records zero customer charge, preserves purchased credit, and remains account- and resource-bound through shared streaming, transcription, grants, and synthesis. The player and purchase dialog show remaining free sessions. Shared live audio still uses one provider pipeline and stops when its last listener leaves. The common allowance class and UX policy apply to future paid upgrades; creator event tickets and external stream fees remain separate products.
Validation: 25 targeted tests passed with real PostgreSQL, including concurrent claims, cross-upgrade limits, two-hour continuous sessions, midnight, ownership, free refunds and paid fallback. Browser checks covered two free listeners, reconnect reuse, zero charges, sixth-session checkout, payment confirmation, background toggles, silent gaps, keyboard operation, mobile axe (zero violations), and preserved focus/scroll. Typechecks and server/web builds passed. Version 0.27.2.
