…ices Delta rating subtracted quantities and totals from the already billed run but carried the cumulative amount discounts unchanged, so every progressive invoice after the first repeated the full discount. AmountDiscounts now supports Add, Sub and Neg keyed by child unique reference ID, and subtract applies them on matched, current-only and reversed detailed lines. The temporary guard that excluded discounted charges from progressive billing is removed.

148-148: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winCover a maximum-spend discount across two invoices.
The maximum-spend case bills all 40 units after the first invoice. It does not test the progressive delta when the cap discount was already billed. Add usage above the cap before the first invoice, then add more usage and assert that the second invoice contains only the cap-discount delta.

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy liftDo not map signed reversal discounts as invoice amount discounts.
A volume-tier repricing can produce a positive aggregate delta while the previous-tier reversal contains a negative discount. The reversal is created at
openmeter/billing/charges/usagebased/service/rating/subtract/subtract.go:220.A valid configuration with a 50% percentage discount can move from 15 units at 10 to a larger quantity at the open-ended tier priced at 5. The aggregate delta can then be positive, so
CreateRatedRunaccepts it. The reversal still carries the previous negative discount.
mapUsageBasedDetailedLinescopies that signed discount into the invoice detailed line.AmountLineDiscount.Validaterejects the negative amount, so invoice validation fails despite the positive line total. Keep signed discounts in charge-rating state for later subtraction, but normalize correction discounts at the invoice-mapping boundary or use an invoice correction representation that accepts signed discounts.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Re the outside-diff major "Do not map signed reversal discounts as invoice amount discounts" ( This path is not reachable. Volume tiered prices embed Graduated tiers do get delta rated, but a tier line only disappears when cumulative usage shrinks. That case is rejected at run creation with Normalizing signs at the invoice mapping boundary would hide a real sign error instead of rejecting it, so the validation stays as is. |
