Publish on a Traversal target uses Debug configuration instead of Release by default #602
It seems that running dotnet publish on a traversal project uses Debug as the default configuration, whereas post .NET 8, the default configuration for publish should be release.
I just realized that this is because the default TFM for Traversal projects is pre- net8.0, so the old behavior applies. The "fix" to this is to use a newer TFM for your Traversal project.
Closing as "By Design", but leaving this note for the next person to run into this problem :)
One potential design idea - the SDK exposes the max TFM it supports, should
Traversal projects try to use that to reduce the things that they have to
care about?
