The dev logger prints each error once per message, collapsing the repeats Vite logs for one failure. Since marko-js/vite#318, an error in a template Vite transforms directly, such as one only the browser loads, carries its label as the message and its position in loc, so the same mistake in two such templates shared one key and only the first was printed. Errors are now keyed on their location plus message; errors without a loc still key on their message, which already names the file. @marko/vite and @marko/compiler are bumped to the versions that report errors this way.

Fixture snapshots now record the errors the dev server prints, so the new fixture shows both templates' errors.

Walkthrough

The Vite plugin now deduplicates development errors using their location and message. Errors without messages are sent to the base logger. The new development fixture imports two templates with the same malformed markup and captures normalized errors in the test snapshot. The @marko/compiler and @marko/vite dependency ranges are updated.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to 2ad98

The logger distinguishes errors from different template files, including those without structured location data. The test capture is serialized, and no actionable merge risk remains.

Handle rejected dynamic imports in the fixture.

The malformed module requests return HTTP 500 responses. The browser harness converts those responses into rejected import() promises, but the fixture does not handle them. Catch the expected failures while preserving the server-error assertions.

The dev logger printed each error once per `message` to collapse Vite's
repeats. Since `@marko/vite` 6.1.13, an error in a template Vite transforms
directly (such as one only the browser loads) carries its label as the message
and its position in `loc`, so the same mistake in two such templates shared a
key and only the first was printed. Key on the location plus message; errors
without a `loc` still key on their message, which names the file.

Fixture snapshots now record the errors the dev server prints.
