This Homebridge plugin makes a wide range of Homematic IP devices available in HomeKit and the Apple Home app. Supported devices include thermostats, switches, dimmers, shutters and blinds, locks, contact and motion sensors, smoke and water detectors, weather sensors, buttons, and security systems.
The plugin discovers supported devices connected to one or more Homematic IP Access Points or Home Control Units, creates native HomeKit accessories for them, and keeps their state synchronized continuously. Devices can be controlled from Apple Home, included in scenes and automations, and used through Siri.

Older Homebridge and Node.js releases are no longer supported by version 2.x of this plugin.
Existing access_point and auth_token configuration remains compatible when upgrading from version 1.x.
If you do not yet have Homebridge, follow the official Homebridge installation documentation.
The recommended way to install this plugin is through the Homebridge UI:
- Open Plugins in the Homebridge UI.
- Search for
homebridge-homematicip. - Select Install.
- Open the plugin settings to configure your Homematic IP Access Point or Home Control Unit.
The Homebridge UI project provides additional installation and plugin-management documentation.
The Homebridge UI exposes the available platform and per-device settings. You can also configure the plugin manually in
config.json. Add one configuration entry for each Homematic IP Access Point or Home Control Unit you want to expose.
Breaking change in version 2.8.0: The legacy
devicesobject keyed by SGTIN is no longer supported. Convert it to the newdevicesarray before starting version 2.8.0. An affected platform will remain offline until it is migrated. Do not save its graphical plugin settings before conversion because the old per-device options could be discarded. Follow the migration instructions in the wiki.
Configure the controller ID and authentication token:

If you do not have an authentication token yet, configure the controller ID without auth_token. Add pin only when a
PIN is configured in the Homematic IP app:

}For an HmIP-HCU1, watch the Homebridge log during startup and press the button on top when prompted. The plugin waits ten seconds before sending the registration request. For an HmIP-HAP, wait for the subsequent link-button prompt and press its blue button.
Copy the generated token from the log into config.json, remove pin, and restart Homebridge.
A pairing attempt waits for the Access Point button for up to five minutes. It stops earlier when the cloud connection fails. Restart Homebridge to begin another pairing attempt.

Devices added to or removed from the Homematic IP installation are reflected in Homebridge while the plugin is running. Cached accessories that no longer exist are removed during startup.
Firmware revisions are updated in Homebridge when Homematic IP reports a change. Renaming a device in the Homematic IP app does not overwrite an accessory name customized in Apple Home.
When requesting support for a new device, open the terminal in the Homebridge UI and run:

inside the Homebridge storage directory instead, append > device-record.json to the command.
The command uses the existing Homematic IP authentication and automatically finds the configuration in standard Linux,
Docker, and user-scoped Homebridge installations. Pass --config <path> to override detection, or
--platform-name <name> when the file contains multiple Homematic IP platforms. Use --all instead of --device only
when records for the complete installation are needed.
The generated JSON removes authentication data, controller and device identifiers, group and room identifiers, and user-assigned names and labels. It retains device types, channel structure, feature flags, and state values required to implement and test a device adapter. Review the file before attaching it to a public issue.
