Summary

  • Align OpenCodex's Claude Code OAuth client profile across translated (src/adapters/anthropic.ts), native (src/adapters/anthropic/passthrough.ts), and sidecar (src/vision/anthropic-describe.ts, src/web-search/anthropic-executor.ts) paths with the official Claude Code 2.1.280 / @anthropic-ai/sdk 0.112.1 surface (CLAUDE_CLI_USER_AGENT, X-Stainless-Package-Version: 0.112.1, X-Stainless-Runtime-Version: v26.3.0, normalized X-Stainless-OS / X-Stainless-Arch, and anthropic-dangerous-direct-browser-access: true).
  • Separate X-Claude-Code-Session-Id per conversation/session (claudeCodeSessionId(token, sessionKey)) instead of emitting a single permanent token-derived UUID across all conversations on an account, while preserving deterministic per-credential fallback when no conversation key is present.
  • Isolate metadata.user_id.device_id per serving Anthropic account UUID (deriveAnthropicAccountDeviceId) in bindAnthropicAccountMetadata so pooled accounts never share a single client device_id.
  • Allowlist Claude Code 2.1.280 native feature betas (extended-cache-ttl-2025-04-11, effort-2025-11-24, thinking-token-count-2026-05-13, mid-conversation-tool-changes-2026-07-01, advanced-tool-use-2025-11-20) for observed first-party native clients.

Verification

  • env -u GOOGLE_ANTIGRAVITY_USER_AGENT bun test tests/clients/client-fingerprint.test.ts tests/adapters/anthropic/anthropic-account-metadata.test.ts tests/adapters/anthropic/anthropic-client-identity.test.ts tests/adapters/anthropic/anthropic-beta-allowlist.test.ts tests/adapters/anthropic/anthropic-messages-passthrough-oauth.test.ts tests/claude-integration/messages-native-oauth.test.ts tests/vision/vision-anthropic.test.ts tests/ci-workflows/file-size-ratchet.test.ts tests/ci-workflows/import-cycle-ratchet.test.ts (205 pass, 0 fail)
  • bun run typecheck (exit 0)
  • bun run privacy:scan (Privacy scan passed)
  • bun run structure:check (structure/ SSOT checks passed)

Checklist

  • Scope stays focused and avoids unrelated cleanup.
  • Docs or release notes were updated when needed.
  • Security-sensitive changes were reviewed for secrets, auth, and unsafe defaults.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Improvements
    • Claude OAuth requests now keep session identifiers consistent for the same conversation and isolate account-specific device identities when serving requests across accounts.
    • Claude client identity headers now use updated CLI-compatible values, and additional supported native-client options can be forwarded.
  • Documentation
    • Added provider comparison and phased planning documents covering OAuth compatibility and multi-account behavior.

Adds Claude CLI version constants and normalized fingerprint headers. Session IDs can incorporate a conversation key. Anthropic account binding derives a device ID from the serving account UUID and updates account metadata.
OAuth session propagation and request headers
src/adapters/anthropic.ts, src/adapters/anthropic/passthrough.ts, src/server/messages-native.ts, src/adapters/anthropic/beta-allowlist.ts, src/vision/anthropic-describe.ts, src/web-search/anthropic-executor.ts, tests/adapters/anthropic/*, tests/vision/vision-anthropic.test.ts
Passes session keys into OAuth authentication, adds five beta names to the native-client allowlist, and uses the Claude CLI user agent on OAuth and related Anthropic requests. Tests cover session derivation, headers, and beta forwarding.

## Reader Summary (`READER-DOC-02`)

OpenCodex currently leaks cross-account client identifiers (`device_id` on Claude native passthrough, `x-codex-installation-id` and `x-oai-attestation` on Codex pools, un-scoped `request.sessionId` and `thoughtSignature` replay caches on Google Antigravity, and shared HTTP/2 sessions on Cursor), emits mismatched or outdated client fingerprints (`@anthropic-ai/sdk/0.74.0` vs `claude-cli/2.1.280`, static per-token `X-Claude-Code-Session-Id`, form-urlencoded Codex token refresh), and leaves gaps in 401/403/429 multi-account pool failover across Google Antigravity, Cursor, Claude, and Codex. This four-phase unit (`wp1` through `wp4`) aligns every provider's wire headers, OAuth refresh contracts, per-conversation session IDs, per-account device/installation IDs, and 401/403/429 pool protection with official client profiles (`claude-code-deobf`, `codex-rs`, `gemini-cli`) and reference proxies (`CLIProxyAPI`, `cliproxy-rs`, `cc-switch`), delivering each phase as an independently verified PR to `dev`. Full comparative evidence lives in [001_provider_parity_matrix.md](./001_provider_parity_matrix.md).

P1 Badge Move unreleased security triage out of tracked devlog files

This commit publishes cross-account isolation findings and detailed remediation plans for Codex, Google, and Cursor even though its implementation changes only address Claude. In particular, 030_phase3_google_cursor_parity.md includes a signature-validator bypass value and proposed rejection patch while the reviewed src/adapters/google-antigravity-wire.ts still accepts that value. These are unfixed-security investigation and pre-disclosure patch plans, which AGENTS.md explicitly prohibits committing to the public devlog/. Move the unreleased security material from this planning unit into ignored scratch space, retaining only documentation of published fixes.

Escape the union separator in the table cell.

The code span string | null contains an unescaped pipe. Markdown parses it as a column separator, so this row has five columns and can lose part of its description. Escape the pipe as string \| null or write string or null.

Correct the sessionKey field chain.

sessionKey is serialized into X-Claude-Code-Session-Id only. bindAnthropicAccountMetadata does not write it to body.metadata.user_id.session_id; that field is read from the caller body and preserved when the metadata object is rewritten. Update the plan instead of adding an assignment that the implementation does not require.

Correct the plan’s `AnthropicMessagesPassthroughOptions.sessionKey` chain:
document `sessionKey` as serialized only into `X-Claude-Code-Session-Id`, and
clarify that `body.metadata.user_id.session_id` is read from the caller body and
preserved by `bindAnthropicAccountMetadata`, not written from `sessionKey`.
Update the related references to match the described flow.

Escape the pipe characters in the error pattern.

The code span failed with http 401|403|429 contains unescaped pipes. Markdown treats them as table separators, so this row has extra columns and can lose part of the description. Write failed with HTTP 401, 403, or 429 or escape each pipe.

Exclude shared cache cohorts from translated session IDs.

When a Claude Desktop Messages request has no metadata.user_id, src/claude/inbound.ts can put a system-derived cache cohort in prompt_cache_key. The translated ingress marks that provenance, but this line uses the key as a conversation ID. Requests from different conversations with the same model, system text, and tools then receive the same session header. A change to those inputs also changes the header within one conversation. Use parsed._promptCacheKeyIsSharedCohort to exclude this key and retain the token-only fallback when no conversation key exists. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the translated session-ID selection around parsed.options.promptCacheKey
to exclude the key when parsed._promptCacheKeyIsSharedCohort is true. Preserve
use of non-shared conversation keys and the token-only fallback when no
conversation key is available.

Carry thread_id through translated Messages replay.

When a Messages caller supplies only thread_id, the native ingress accepts it as a session key. The translated ingress constructs a new internal request, but its forwarded-header list omits thread_id; this resolver then checks only thread-id. The new per-conversation header therefore falls back to a cache key or credential instead of the caller’s thread. Normalize thread_id into the internal request’s session-key input, and test the translated /v1/messages path. Adding a read here alone will not fix the header lost before this function runs. Update the translated `/v1/messages` request construction to preserve
`thread_id` as the internal session-key input before it reaches the resolver
that checks `incoming` headers. Keep the existing `thread-id` handling and
verify the translated Messages replay path uses the caller’s thread rather than
falling back to a cache key or credential.

…d account

Replays the ID-isolation parts of three upstream commits:
- e04aae0 (lidge-jun#7838): Anthropic metadata device_id is derived per account
UUID, and the Claude Code session id gains a per-conversation key, so
pooled accounts no longer share one device and every conversation on a
token no longer shares one session.
- ba880df (lidge-jun#7840): x-codex-turn-state (header and client_metadata) is
scrubbed when a request moves to another account.
- 007dbfd (lidge-jun#8065): pool accounts send an installation ID derived as
  HMAC(secret, account) from a private 32-byte codex-installation-secret
in the config home, across Responses HTTP/WS, compact, context history,
search, images, live, audio and the vision/web-search sidecars. Direct
and main accounts keep the caller's values. If the secret cannot be
read or created safely, pool sends return 503 instead of falling back
to the caller's ID. A blank chatgptAccountId is no longer a credential.

Deferred parts (Claude Code 2.1.280 profile, JSON refresh body, login
originator, version header) are recorded in docs/fork/UPSTREAM.md.
