A contract that only looked at one tab

Work report

The Queen viewport contract now guards the kanban view at framed-phone heights, and the new probe found and fixed two more cards that did not fit their column.

What changed

  • Viewport contract covers wars and kanban views and adds 390x640 and 390x560 sizes
  • New probe fails when a kanban column with cards shows no whole card inside its box
  • Card foot is one ellipsised line with the full list in a title, fixing overflow at 1280x600
  • Direction chips become one scrolling row below 600px height, fixing the card box at 390x560

Context and reasoning

The phone kanban shipped with columns 14px tall while the viewport contract stayed green, because the contract never opened the kanban tab at all.

Adding the kanban at 390x844 was not enough: the board framed by /game gets 560 to 640 pixels of height, and the old bug passed at the taller size.

One new probe asks a plain question of every column with cards: does at least one whole card fit inside the visible box of that column?

On its first run the probe found two more broken layouts: a wrapping card foot at 1280x600 and two rows of chips eating the card box at 390x560.

Reported verification

  • [passed] Command: node qa/queen-viewport-contract.mjs. Result: 8 sizes x 2 views PASS. Evidence: 390x640 kanban PASS cards=132; 390x560 kanban PASS cards=132; 1280x600 kanban PASS cards=132
  • [failed] Command: node qa/queen-viewport-contract.mjs (pre-fix(queen): the kanban showed no card on a phone #1221 phone CSS restored). Result: mutation caught: every kanban column fails at 390x640. Evidence: NO WHOLE CARD IN A COLUMN, box 14px
  • [passed] Command: node --experimental-strip-types qa/queen-responsive.mjs. Result: Responsive contract PASS. Evidence: pointer state machine, flow layout, readable controls, single context

Limits and open questions

  • check:queen-dead-api and check:queen-touch are already red on origin/main and stay red; not addressed here
  • The live board changes only after the QUEEN_REF bump in 999 is merged and deployed
