   Not sure if it's proper to assign myself this TODO and to comment publicly here in terms of lab etiquette (please let me know if not, my sincere apologies first and I'll revert it back). I'm very interested in making the distributed object store proper via engineering&research, so this has been motivating me to read the codebase. Currently I'm trying to understand what's "improper" about the existing object store. It seems to me an interesting problem to tackle.
