Hi @manuq Manu, sorry for the delay in replying; I was working on other designs and the change you mentioned. I’m sending the photos—please take a look at the feedback. Thanks.
Hi Manu @manuq ! I have another question about the hat randomization.
When I select “Random,” the hats I added don’t randomize together with the character. Instead, the hat that was selected initially remains the same.
How should we handle this so that the hat also randomizes with the character? Should the hat be linked to each character so that the character, hair, and hat are randomized as a set?
I’d appreciate your feedback on how we should implement this. Thank you! 😊
@Nilu501Dado que pudiste integrar nuevos cabezales en el townie.tscnarchivo #2884 , ¿puedes ayudarme?@Tamy6610¿Para integrar los nuevos sombreros opcionales?
Hello! Sorry, I just saw the message. Sorry for the delay. Sure, I can help.
Hi @Nilu501 Nilu! I’ve already made some progress with the hats and added them to townie.tscn. I just have a few questions about how the randomization should work.
When I use the “Random” option, the hat doesn’t randomize together with the character; the initially selected hat stays the same. I’m not sure if the hat should be linked to the character, hair, etc., or if it should be randomized independently.
Could you let me know how you’d like this to work? I’d appreciate your guidance.
Hola@Nilu501¡Hola Nilu!
Hi! I may be misunderstanding the issue a little because my English isn’t very strong, and the translator may not have captured everything correctly. Could you send a short video showing what happens when you click “Randomize”? I’m also attaching a video showing how it worked for me when I added the head variants to the randomizer.
Hi @manuq Manu! I have a question about the hats. Will there be a selection of hats, or will they also be randomized together with the hair?
@Tamy6610 good question. The hats should be a new part of the multi-part character. So you will need to add a new AnimatedSprite2D to the existing tree, as child of the Hair one. And the same behaviors as the other parts. Something like this:

Do you still have this problem? I couldn't look at your pull request yet. But in case you didn't found out yet, this is the responsibility of the RandomTextureSpriteBehavior node. Check how other parts do it. You will need a set of .tres files with the SpriteFrames resources of each hat variant. For example in hairs:
hi @manuq Manu! I managed to fix the randomization. I made some changes to the hat setup and placed the hats as siblings of the hair, as Tobias suggested.
I also added them to the RandomTextureSpriteBehavior, and now the hats randomize correctly with the other character parts.
I’ve finished everything and uploaded the changes. Thank you for your guidance!

The hats as sibling of hair would work too, good idea!

PR #2911 is ready for review. I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look when you have a chance. 😊

Hi Manu @manuq , I’m sending you my planning sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GM5UGyXD6Sux-JLaZ4thdq7pjea6rhbiWzdgHiOFpfY/edit?gid=0#gid=0, along with the progress I’ve made on my drawing.

@Tamy6610 beautiful! Please try to stick to 3 shades for the cel shading. See https://github.com/endlessm/threadbare/wiki/Visual-Style-Guide#color-palette-and-cel-shading .
Also try to make the outline 2 pixels wide, at least in parts. This will make the asset stand out of the background.
How many hat variations are you planning?

Hi @manuq Manu! I have a question about the hats. Will there be a selection of hats, or will they also be randomized together with the hair?
I uploaded them to Godot to test them, and I created a sub-branch to upload the hats along with the hair.
I look forward to hearing your feedback and comments. 😊
