WalkthroughThe change adds generation-isolated EvoDB storage for snapshot chainstate, with consensus-configuration fingerprints and journaled promotion. Chainstate operations and Evo-dependent caches use view bindings. Local Evo-state failures are tracked separately from consensus-invalid blocks. Node interfaces represent unavailable results explicitly, and RPC, REST, GUI, and wallet callers handle them. The wallet tracks ProTx collateral that cannot yet be classified and excludes it from automatic coin selection. If Evo state stays unavailable, each failed round ends with
UninterruptibleSleep(1s).NetDKG::Stop()sets the stop flag, but the thread checks it only after the sleep ends. The delay is at most one second per round, and all phase threads sleep in parallel. Shutdown therefore takes up to one second longer. This is acceptable, but you can use an interruptible wait on the handler's stop condition if one exists.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Final validation — Phase 1 + Phase 2
Two recoverable Evo-error paths leave validation subscribers or tip-dependent state inconsistent and require changes. Both issues were verified against the exact head using static source inspection; no builds or tests were run. In the supplied CI snapshot from 2026-10-15T14:25:41Z, the listed source-build checks passed and lint remained in progress.

In `src/validationinterface.cpp`:
- [BLOCKING] src/validationinterface.cpp:187-190: Contain local Evo exceptions inside each validation subscriber
The new catch boundary surrounds the entire subscriber fanout, but MainSignalsImpl::Iterate increments each subscriber's count before invoking it and decrements it only after a normal return. A LocalStateError from a subscriber—for example, CDSNotificationInterface::UpdatedBlockTip calling governance, which reads GetListAtChainTip—therefore skips both the decrement and all later subscribers. EvoViewCapture::Run suppresses the exception and processing continues with the count permanently elevated. Unregister then removes the map entry without removing the list entry, so future events still invoke the unregistered subscriber; RegisterValidationInterface uses a non-owning shared_ptr, making this a potential use-after-free once the owner destroys it. Make iteration accounting exception-safe and catch recoverable local errors per subscriber so the remaining subscribers receive the event.
In `src/validation.cpp`:
- [BLOCKING] src/validation.cpp:3582-3585: Publish partial tip movement before deferring a disconnect stall
Returning a recoverable stall here preserves the failed DisconnectTip's starting tip, but does not undo successful disconnects earlier in the caller's loop. In InvalidateBlock, if one disconnect succeeds and a later one stalls, the immediate return at line 4294 bypasses all final SynchronousUpdatedBlockTip, UpdatedBlockTip and UI notifications. NetInstantSend::InvalidateConflictingBlocks then stores the deferred conflict and returns without calling ActivateBestChain. The successful DisconnectTip calls have already moved m_chain and queued BlockDisconnected, while CDeterministicMNManager's per-view tipIndex is still the old tip because UpdateTip does not update it; that happens through CDSNotificationInterface::SynchronousUpdatedBlockTip. GetListAtChainTip can consequently serve the disconnected tip's masternode list while the node continues running on the rewound chain. Finalize and announce successful partial tip movement before returning a recoverable failure, and add a regression case where an earlier disconnect succeeds and a later one stalls.

Fixed in fix(evo): bind non-active paths and dispatcher boundaries explicitly. MainSignalsImpl::Iterate now keeps its count bookkeeping right whenever a subscriber throws: before any exception leaves the loop, the entry's count is decremented, and the entry is erased once the count reaches zero, so Unregister never leaves a stale list entry. For queued events, an evo::LocalStateError is now caught per subscriber, logged, and delivery continues with the next subscriber. The queue has no caller that could handle the error, and before this change EvoViewCapture::Run already swallowed it for the whole fanout. Synchronous signals still propagate it to their caller, so behaviour there is unchanged: ConnectTip still classifies it as a stall, and the startup path still shuts down.
New test: validationinterface_tests/local_evo_error_in_subscriber. It registers a subscriber that throws and one that records calls, then checks that:
- the recording subscriber still receives a queued event (
ChainStateFlushed); - a synchronous event (
BlockChecked) rethrows to the caller; - after
UnregisterSharedValidationInterfacethe throwing subscriber is never called again.
Without the fix all three checks fail. The other subscriber never gets the queued event, and the unregistered subscriber keeps being called and keeps throwing.

Resolved (re-reviewed at e118c68b): Your Iterate changes restore subscriber accounting before exceptions propagate and contain queued LocalStateError failures per subscriber, while preserving synchronous propagation to callers. The added scenario checks continued queued delivery and that unregistering the throwing subscriber prevents subsequent calls, addressing both parts of the original finding.

Fixed in fix(evo): pass snapshot-data and mismatch errors through generic catches. All three places that can stall after moving the tip now finish and announce the tip they reached, then return the stall:
InvalidateBlock: a stall breaks out of the disconnect loop into the normal tail. The last disconnected block is marked as when the loop is interrupted, candidates are refreshed, andSynchronousUpdatedBlockTip/UpdatedBlockTip/NotifyBlockTipfire for the current tip. If nothing was disconnected yet, it returns the stall without announcing anything, as before.MarkConflictingBlockhad the same pattern. The blocks it already disconnected are markedBLOCK_CONFLICT_CHAINLOCKand the tip is announced. The block that stalled stays in the chain unmarked, andEnforceBlockretries it on its next run.ActivateBestChainalready announced partial connects. A reorg that disconnected and then stalled before connecting anything leftpindexFork == pindexNewTipand announced nothing; it now announces that rewind with a null fork, the same wayInvalidateBlockdoes.
chainstatemanager_activate_snapshot covers each case: a stall at the second disconnect of an InvalidateBlock, the same through EnforceBlock, and a reorg that disconnects one block and then stalls connecting. Each case checks the chain tip and the last synchronous and queued tip announcements. Reverting any one of the three changes fails that case.

Resolved (re-reviewed at e118c68b): Your updated InvalidateBlock and MarkConflictingBlock paths now finish and announce successful partial disconnects before returning the stall, and ActivateBestChain publishes a disconnect-only rewind. I also checked that the added scenario asserts the actual chain tip and both synchronous and queued announcements for all three paths; I did not execute the tests or independently verify the mutation-run claim.

Verified the supplied findings against exact head e118c68. Both prior blockers are fixed, but the new scheduler wrapper introduces an unsynchronized EvoDB lifetime race during initialization and database-load retries; neither new Codex finding demonstrates a current failing call path. This was static verification only: no builds or tests were run, and the supplied CI snapshot still has checks pending or queued.

Single-chainstate startup is also affected because that dereference occurs before the single-view early return. Synchronize publication and replacement with lifetime protection, or use a synchronized readiness mechanism that prevents scheduler Evo binding until initialization and all retries have finished. An atomic raw pointer alone would not protect an already-fetched database.

Fixed in fix(evo): bind non-active paths and dispatcher boundaries explicitly. Dispatchers that start before the block databases load no longer read node.evodb at all; they now read a separate NodeContext::evodb_for_dispatch:
- Publication: startup publishes
evodb_for_dispatchonce, after the load loop, so after every retry. While it is null, tasks run unbound, as they do on develop. - Withdrawal:
Shutdownclears it before destroying the database, and only after the scheduler has been joined and REST stopped. So no reset ever happens while it is published. That publish-once lifetime, not the atomic on its own, is what makes this safe. - Who reads it: the scheduler task wrapper and the REST wrapper, the two dispatchers that start before loading.
- Unchanged: RPC is blocked by warm-up until after loading, P2P starts later, and the ChainLock and InstantSend schedulers are created after loading.
chainstate_update_tip now checks that a scheduler task stays unbound before publication and is bound after it. Reverting the wrapper to read node.evodb makes that check fail.

Resolved (re-reviewed at 3a14f806): Your publish-once evodb_for_dispatch handle fixes the original scheduler/REST wrapper race: it stays null throughout load retries, and shutdown stops those workers before withdrawing the handle and destroying EvoDB. The remaining lifetime finding concerns tokens explicitly captured by startup validation events, which bypass that handle; it is reported separately.

No builds or tests were run locally; current-head CI has no failed checks, with ASan and TSan tests and the multiprocess build still pending, and the four base-only commits have no changed-file overlap or reported merge conflicts.

Re-review — Final validation — Phase 1 + Phase 2
The exact-head diff was reviewed against the surrounding validation, EvoDB, chainstate, networking, and test code. The remaining Codex finding is refuted: the validation-path binding guards intentionally return plain state errors, matching the PR's documented contract and the wrong-view regression test, while all normal production callers bind the intended Evo view. No in-scope findings remain; source-build CI checks are still queued, while lint and ClangFormat have passed.

CI failed after approval — commit a1e6e83
The standing review approved this commit; this follow-up moves the verdict to COMMENT: checks that failed after the review look related to this change.
Failing checks:
linux64-test / Test source(failure)linux64_multiprocess-build / Build source(failure)
Why they look related: The test failure is in feature_llmq_simplepose.py, an Evo/LLMQ-related functional test, and this PR changes extensive LLMQ, chainstate, validation, and Evo state-handling code. The multiprocess build failure includes clang-tidy diagnostics in PR-modified tests and Evo snapshot code, so both failures plausibly relate to the changes.
Nothing was re-reviewed: the findings of the standing review are unchanged. The next push gets a full review; a re-run that passes does not restore the approval.

During dual-chainstate operation a snapshot chainstate block whose Evo state depends on data this node does not have yet (a pre-base MN-list diff on a cold EvoDB) raised BlockDataUnavailableError. The generic std::exception catch in ProcessSpecialTxsInBlock turned it into failed-procspectxsinblock, so the block was marked BLOCK_FAILED_VALID and its relayer could be punished, although nothing is wrong with it. Add evo/snapshot_types.h with a LocalStateError base for errors about this node's own Evo state: BlockDataUnavailableError (moved here), SnapshotStateMismatchError and EvoViewBindingError. Rebuilding the credit pool or the EHF signals from a block body this node does not have (pruned, or below a snapshot base) raises BlockDataUnavailableError; an unreadable body the node should have stays a plain error. For a pruned node this changes NORMAL too: such a block now stalls the chainstate instead of being marked invalid. Every generic catch on the block-connection path (CheckSpecialTxInner, ProcessSpecialTxsInBlock, CheckCreditPoolDiffForBlock, UndoSpecialTxsInBlock, GetCreditPoolDiffForBlock, CMNHFManager::ProcessBlock, CDeterministicMNManager::ProcessBlock) rethrows them. ConnectTip, DisconnectTip and TestBlockValidity classify them: a mismatch rejects the snapshot through the new ChainstateManager::HandleSnapshotStateMismatch, anything else is state.Error, so the chainstate stalls instead of invalidating the block. ConnectTip announces that error through BlockChecked like any other connection result, so submitblock reports it and the relaying peer is neither punished nor credited. Mempool and mining callers of CheckSpecialTx fail locally, the asset-unlock credit-pool precheck passes the error on, and mempool acceptance (single, package and test-accept) turns any local Evo error into an error result, dropping the coins it loaded like any failure. HandleSnapshotStateMismatch is extracted from the MaybeCompleteSnapshotValidation rejection lambda, and flushes both chainstates first so it can also run mid-connection. A stall is typed: BlockValidationState carries a LocalEvoStateResult (unavailable data, a binding fault, or a mismatch that could not reject the snapshot), queried with IsLocalEvoStateError(). It is an error, never invalidity, and is distinct from storage errors and from a rejected snapshot. The chainstate remembers the blocks it stalled on (every one: they are all in the block index) and refuses them at once on later attempts instead of revalidating them, until the node restarts; the first stall logs an error and sets the misc warning. Completing snapshot validation does not make the background chainstate's state readable to the snapshot chainstate before the next startup promotes it, so a chainstate still stalled then is told to restart. Candidate selection passes over the branches that need the stalled block connected (or disconnected), so a usable branch with less work still advances the chain; ActivateBestChain reports the stall when only it keeps a chain with more work out of reach. Callers that treated any failure as fatal no longer abort on a stall: ActivateBestChain announces the blocks it connected before stopping, ActivateBestChainStep returns the disconnected transactions to the mempool without AbortNode, block import continues with the other chainstates and the rest of startup, LoadExternalBlockFile keeps importing for the other chainstates, ChainLock enforcement retries on its next run, and InstantSend keeps the conflicting blocks a lock could not invalidate and retries them after the next tip or ChainLock change instead of asserting; an invalidation that is only temporary, for a lock without its transaction, clears the failure flags it set however it ends. A stall partway through a rewind keeps the blocks already disconnected and announces the tip reached: InvalidateBlock and ChainLock conflict marking finish and announce what they disconnected, and ActivateBestChain announces a reorganization that stalled before connecting anything. A block whose disconnect stalls stays in the chain, so the best header (and best invalid block) adjusted for it are restored. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
An EvoViewToken names the Evo state one operation works on: an EvoDB, an identity, a generation and the snapshot base. EvoViewScope binds the calling thread's accesses on that EvoDB to a token until it goes out of scope; scopes nest and restore the enclosing binding on exit. A transaction the same thread holds open on the EvoDB also binds it, and a scope and a transaction must agree: a conflict in either order raises EvoViewBindingError. CEvoDB::CurrentView() resolves the open transaction, then the innermost scope, then the default identity. Nothing binds scopes yet, so behavior is unchanged: unbound access still resolves to the default identity. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…th journaled promotion
The snapshot chainstate shared the NORMAL keyspace. Its records above the
snapshot base (MN lists, mined commitments, credit pools) stayed readable
by NORMAL after the snapshot was rejected, so the background chainstate
could consume them instead of deriving its own state, or abort on a
WriteDerived mismatch.
Every key the SNAPSHOT identity writes is now stored as ("S", generation,
key), and its reads and iterators see only that namespace: there is no
NORMAL fallback, and NORMAL iterators step over all generations.
WriteDerived therefore compares only within its own view. CEvoDB gains
WriteDurable for view-aware immediate writes; StoreSnapshotForBlock uses
it, and under the snapshot view at or below the base it only compares a
carried quarter and neither persists nor caches an uncarried one.
The remaining raw-DB users (DMN migration and repair, quorum cleanup)
are marked NORMAL-only lifecycle operations.
Generations carry an unprefixed lifecycle record (unpublished,
published, rejected, promoting; base; tip; local schema version) and
the EvoSnapshotConsensusConfig fingerprint of the consensus and
deployment configuration they were published under. Startup collects
unpublished and rejected generations, refuses a published one whose
fingerprint no longer matches, and refuses dual-chainstate markers that
predate isolation.
Rejection marks the generation rejected in the same synced batch that
discards the markers. The rejected record stays until the snapshot's coins
directory has been invalidated, and only then is the generation collected,
so a crash in between still finishes the invalidation at startup. Promotion writes a journal
before the first coins-directory rename, merges the generation into
NORMAL keys with a resumable cursor (overlapping immutable records must
be byte-identical), collects it, and publishes the final markers
atomically with removing the journal. Startup finishes a journaled
promotion; without a journal, a completed coins swap can only be an
interrupted invalid-snapshot cleanup and is discarded.

Isolating the snapshot generation's records is not enough while the managers keep one cache for both chainstates: a list, quorum member set, mined-commitment location or deployment state derived under the snapshot view at a block the background chainstate also reaches was served to NORMAL lookups, which then never derived their own. EvoViewCache keeps one partition per Evo view (EvoDB, identity, generation). Every cache keyed by a block or quorum hash now resolves the calling operation's view and uses only that partition: the MN-list lists, diffs, tip and initial-snapshot anchor; quorum snapshots; credit pools; MNHF signals; mined-commitment locations and the qc-hash caches; the quorum member caches; the quorum manager's quorum, scan and commitment-scan caches; the versionbits and warning caches; and the previous-coinbase ChainLock statics. The versionbits partition and the EHF signals SignalHeight reads both come from the calling thread's view. Caches of data parsed from block bytes and the vvec/skshare stores stay shared. Rejecting or promoting a generation bumps an epoch that drops every partition. The MN-list cache of a view is pruned against the higher of its tip and the highest block it processed: a view stops receiving tip notifications once its chainstate is no longer the active one, so a stale tip would keep its cache from ever being pruned. A snapshot view has no quorum history at or below its base once DIP3 is active there (a base at or above the DIP3 height), so lookups that would need it raise BlockDataUnavailableError instead of answering from partial data: a mined-commitment scan that comes up short (GetMinedCommitmentsUntilBlock, and the rotating per-index scan on a miss), a HasMinedCommitment miss for a quorum at or below the base, and the coinbase ChainLock read of a block at or below the base whose body is not stored. EHF signals derived from block bodies are written only inside a block-scoped Evo transaction, on a cache hit too, so lookups from mempool acceptance, mining or RPC leave the view clean. Adds CDeterministicMNManager::SetListSnapshotMissHookForTesting, which reports lookups that miss both the cache and the stored lists, and CachedListHeightsForTesting, for the partition and pruning tests. Evo accesses resolved their view from an open transaction or, failing that, the active chainstate. Work for the background chainstate outside a transaction, and work handed to another thread, silently used the active (snapshot) view instead. ForceSignalDBUpdate, for one, opened a NORMAL transaction at the active snapshot tip and flushed the NORMAL root. Every Chainstate method that reads Evo state (ActivateBestChain, ConnectTip, DisconnectTip, ReplayBlocks, LoadChainTip, RollforwardBlock, FlushStateToDisk, InvalidateBlock, EnforceBlock), TestBlockValidity, VerifyDB and the per-chainstate startup loops now bind that chainstate's view. ForceSignalDBUpdate takes the intended chainstate's view and uses its identity for the transaction and the root commit. Signals that view cannot rebuild are left to be rebuilt on demand, so startup can still reach the promotion of a validated snapshot. DMN repair binds NORMAL. Active-chain dispatchers bind the active chainstate's view per operation unless the thread is already bound: RPC execution, each peer's message-handler turn (its queued GETDATA requests, its next message and its sends), the miner, mempool admission, Evo-reading interfaces calls, each node-scheduler task and each ChainLock, DKG and InstantSend work round. A local Evo state error ends the peer's turn, never the message-handler thread, and GETDATA requests leave the queue before they are served, so a failed lookup neither serves earlier requests again nor keeps the peer's later messages waiting; the NOTFOUND replies completed before it are still sent. The node scheduler and REST start before the block databases load, and a load retry replaces the Evo database, so they bind only to the one startup publishes once loading is final (and withdraws before destroying it, after they have stopped); until then their work runs unbound. RPC is held off by its warm-up until then. A chainstate load retry first lets the validation events the failed attempt queued run, since they are bound to the databases it then releases. Queued validation events and LLMQ worker-pool tasks capture the enqueuing thread's binding and reinstall it when they run; a task bound to a retired generation, or whose binding cannot be installed, is dropped, and what its enqueuer claimed for it is released. A local Evo state error in one subscriber to a queued event stays with that subscriber, and the others still receive the event; synchronous signals still pass it on to their caller. Either way the subscriber's registration count stays right, so it can still be unregistered. Every GUI- and wallet-facing interface operation that reads Evo state (the EVO provider operations, Evo, governance and LLMQ reads, isV24Active and listMNCollaterials) binds the active view and contains evo::LocalStateError at the interface boundary: it logs once per operation and generation, sets the misc warning, and reports failure through the operation's own channel. Operations without one now return std::optional (or, for GovernanceInfo, an optional fundingthreshold), and their Qt and wallet consumers keep their current data, show that the masternode state is unavailable, or refuse the action, instead of treating it as data. While the masternode list is unavailable, the wallet keeps outputs it cannot classify out of automatic coin selection, CoinJoin's included, and classifies them again on the next block. A chainstate's remembered Evo stall lapses once its view changes. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Re-review — Final validation — Phase 1 + Phase 2
The six-commit Evo isolation series is substantially correct, and the supplied prior findings are addressed at the current head. One blocking defect remains: the new connect-path binding guards return an untyped validation error instead of raising the typed local Evo binding error, so a violated binding precondition bypasses stall classification and related recovery/reporting. Several build and test checks remain in progress; no local tests were run under the static-review restriction.

In `src/evo/specialtxman.cpp`:
- [BLOCKING] src/evo/specialtxman.cpp:901-903: Connect-path binding guard returns untyped Error instead of a local stall
`ProcessSpecialTxsInBlock` rejects an unbound chainstate with `state.Error(...)`, leaving `LocalEvoStateResult` as `NONE`, so `IsLocalEvoStateError(state)` is false. If this guard is reached, `ConnectTip` treats the failure as a generic error rather than a local binding stall: it is not memoized for candidate selection, and the local-stall handling used by `BlockChecked`, `submitblock`, and peer processing is bypassed. The same defect exists in `CQuorumBlockProcessor::ProcessBlock` at `src/llmq/blockprocessor.cpp:221-223`. These guards are the enforcement point introduced by this PR and must produce the typed `EvoViewBindingError` used by the matching undo paths and by `LocalEvoStateError` classification.

Fixed at 87c5a9e8e6a1. Fixed in feat(evo): reject unbound Evo reads during dual operation. The guards in ProcessSpecialTxsInBlock and CQuorumBlockProcessor::ProcessBlock now throw EvoViewBindingError, the same as the guards on the undo path.
The previous round accepted a plain state.Error, and that was inconsistent. The PR's rule is that a binding fault is a local Evo error wherever it happens. With the plain error, connect produced an untyped error while undo produced a typed one. IsLocalEvoStateError was then false on connect, which skipped the stall memo and the handling in BlockChecked, submitblock and peer processing. Now both directions reach the same LocalStateError boundaries, which classify the fault as a BINDING stall.
Every caller already handles the throw:
ConnectTipcatches it.TestBlockValidity, including the miner's call, catches it.VerifyDBandReplayBlocksbind the chainstate's view on entry, and initialization catches anything deeper.
Each of these binds the chainstate's own view before connecting, so none of them can actually reach the guard. A direct call is the only way to trigger it.
So the wrong-view rows in chainstate_update_tip now call both entry points directly under the other chainstate's view. They expect EvoViewBindingError and an untouched state. Without the fix, both calls return false with an error state instead of throwing.

Resolved (re-reviewed at 87c5a9e8): You now throw EvoViewBindingError from both connect-path guards, so binding faults are consistently classified as local Evo stalls in both directions.
With two chainstates, an Evo access that no transaction or scope binds says nothing about which chainstate it serves. Resolving it to the default identity silently computed one chainstate's state from the other's data. While a snapshot generation is live, an unbound read, write, iterator or cache lookup, and one bound to a retired generation, now raises EvoViewBindingError before touching any state. The check is a plain throw, so it holds in release builds. Manager entry points that take an explicit chainstate (ProcessSpecialTxsInBlock, UndoSpecialTxsInBlock and the quorum block processor's ProcessBlock and UndoBlock) refuse to run unless the calling thread is bound to that chainstate's view, raising EvoViewBindingError on connect and undo alike, so the chainstate boundaries classify it as a local stall. With a single chainstate the NORMAL default is unchanged. A binding fault is a local error everywhere: state.Error during validation, RPC_INTERNAL_ERROR over RPC, an aborted operation for P2P and the miner, a logged and ended task for queued and scheduled work, and an initialization failure at startup. It never becomes an empty success, consensus invalidity, a peer penalty or a process abort. A new test extends the snapshot chain past DIP3 and V20 activation and the first disk-snapshot period with a registered masternode, and checks that the real MN-list, credit-pool and EHF state it writes stays in its generation and its cache partitions, and that NORMAL rebuilds all of it after the snapshot is rejected and the node restarts. The complete PR range was independently reviewed at the exact head. The Evo view binding, generation lifecycle, cache partitioning, local-state classification, asynchronous lifetime handling, networking boundaries, interfaces, wallet behavior, and partial-rewind paths are consistent with the stated isolation design, with no remaining actionable in-scope findings. Source builds and lint checks pass; the applicable Linux test checks are still pending, and no local tests were run.

Issue being fixed or feature implemented
This is the first PR of the reworked AssumeUTXO Evo-snapshot series. The stack is now this PR, then #7593, then #7601.
While a snapshot chainstate and the background chainstate run together, they share one EvoDB keyspace and one set of Evo-derived caches: MN lists, quorums, the credit pool, MNHF/EHF and versionbits. As a result:
BLOCK_FAILED_VALID, a peer penalty,AbortNodeorassert. It should be a local, retryable condition.Review of #7593 and #7601 kept running into these problems. Two independent designs (Claude Opus and GPT) were reconciled into one agreed design, which puts the isolation in its own reviewable PR on develop. With no snapshot loaded, the isolation changes no behaviour. The only way to get a dual chainstate today is a regtest UTXO-only snapshot. The typed-error handling in commit 1 does change behaviour with a single chainstate, wherever a block body Evo needs is missing or pruned (see Breaking Changes).
What was done?
Six atomic commits:

The asset-unlock credit-pool precheck rethrows the typed error before its generic catch, so it is no longer reported asfailed-getcreditpool.refactor(evo): add EvoDB view tokens and scopes.EvoViewScope.CurrentView(), which must agree with any open transaction; a conflict raisesEvoViewBindingError.feat(evo): store snapshot-identity state in a generation namespace with journaled promotion.WriteDerivedcompares only within its own view;WriteDurableis the view-aware immediate write used byStoreSnapshotForBlock.RecoverSnapshotCleanuprenameschainstate_snapshotonly when no live generation is bound, so a stale rejected record cannot invalidate a live snapshot's directory.q_bbu2singleton. The merge resumes after a crash at any phase.-reindex-chainstate.fix(evo): partition Evo-derived caches by view.EvoViewCache). Rejection and promotion invalidate them through an epoch counter. A view's MN-list cache is pruned against the higher of its tip and the highest block it processed.BlockDataUnavailableError, and the chainstate stalls. Above B the generation is complete, so its answers are authoritative. There is one gate per path class:HasMinedCommitment(LacksQuorumHistory);RequireSatisfiedScanin the two scan primitives. This coversScanQuorums/ScanCommitmentsand what uses them (asset-unlock, ChainLock, InstantSend and signing quorum selection, the CbTx quorum root, rotation scans);GetNonNullCoinbaseChainlock(CbTx best-ChainLock check and quorum work-block modifiers);CMNHFManager::MaybePersistwrites only whileHasActiveTransaction(). A transactionless lookup (getdeploymentinfo, mempool, miner, versionbits) keeps the rebuilt signals in cache only, and a later lookup inside a transaction persists them. A transactionless rebuild can no longer leave partial records or trip the clean-transaction assertion at the next root commit. This was latent for NORMAL on develop; the isolated generation made it reachable.CDeterministicMNManager::SetListSnapshotMissHookForTestingandCachedListHeightsForTesting.fix(evo): bind non-active paths and dispatcher boundaries explicitly.Chainstatemethod that reads Evo state binds its own view. Startup, the post-import tail (FinishImportedStartup), export, completion,VerifyDBandTestBlockValiditybind explicitly.ForceSignalDBUpdatetakes the intended view and uses its identity for the transaction and root commit; signals the view cannot rebuild are left to be rebuilt on demand. DMN repair binds NORMAL.interfaces::methods, each node-scheduler task, and each ChainLock, DKG and InstantSend work round.CConnman::ServicePeerbinds and contains each peer's whole turn (GETDATA drain, orphans, next message,SendMessages). A local Evo error ends that peer's turn, is logged underBCLog::NET, and never ends the message-handler thread or punishes the peer.ProcessGetDatatakes each request off the queue before serving it, so a failed lookup neither re-serves earlier requests nor leaves the failed request blocking the peer's later messages.NodeContext::evodb_for_dispatch, which startup publishes once loading is final and withdraws before destroying the database; until then their work runs unbound.ReleaseChainstateLoadAttempt()runs queued validation events before a retry resets the managers andevodb.ForceSignalDBUpdatecatchesLocalStateError: it restores the BLS scheme, rolls back its scoped transaction, logs that the update was skipped and returns success. Loading then continues to snapshot completion and promotion.interfaces::method goes throughWithActiveEvoViewor a dispatcher that binds and contains: EVO provider operations, getListAtChainTip, governance reads (includinggetCurrentVotes, andgetGovernanceInfo'sfundingthreshold), LLMQ reads,isV24ActiveandlistMNCollaterials. Each logs once per operation and generation, sets the misc warning, and reports failure through its own channel. Methods with none now returnstd::optional(getCurrentVotesreturnsnullopt). The Qt and wallet callers keep their current data, show "unavailable" or refuse the action, instead of treating it as data.openconskips its round when the MN list can't be read, asmncondoes. The DKG phase-thread retry delay is ten 100 ms sleeps that checkIsStopRequested().feat(evo): reject unbound Evo reads during dual operation. While a snapshot generation is live, an Evo read, write, iterator or cache lookup with no view bound, or bound to a retired generation, raisesEvoViewBindingErrorin every build before touching state.ProcessSpecialTxsInBlock,UndoSpecialTxsInBlockand the quorum block processor'sProcessBlock/UndoBlockrefuse to run unless the thread is bound to the chainstate's view. With one chainstate, NORMAL stays the default. A binding fault is a local error everywhere: aBINDINGstall in validation (connect and undo throw the same typedEvoViewBindingError),RPC_INTERNAL_ERRORover RPC, an aborted operation for P2P and the miner, a logged and ended task for queued and scheduled work, and an initialization failure at startup.ProcessSpecialTxsInBlockandUndoSpecialTxsInBlocktake an explicit view argument, which avoids a new circular dependency.Design notes and audits
Each audit below found its gaps and they are fixed in the commits above:
max(count, keepOldConnections), so a SNAPSHOT view stalls until that many quorums of the type are mined above B. This is a deliberate over-approximation.catch (...)/std::exception/std::runtime_errorin evo, llmq, instantsend, governance, validation, txmempool and the miner. The asset-unlock precheck was the only gap.overridein the node, wallet and CoinJoin interfaces.getCurrentVoteswas the only gap.Coverage deferred to #7601
The 110/200 regtest fixture predates DIP3, so some outcomes need the DIP3-active snapshot fixture that #7601 builds with the v4 emitter. #7601 adds tests for most of these. The InstantSend end-to-end path waits for
loadtxoutset(M5).NotifyMasternodeListChangedsuppression;q_mcrecords and real quorum caches;ForceSignalDBUpdate;Deferred non-test items:
tipIndexafter a cache drop.For #7593
RequireSatisfiedScan(the single scan branch), and the carried base coinbase is consulted before the coinbase gate.LacksQuorumHistoryapplies to every LLMQ type once DIP3 is active at B. feat: v4 evo snapshot with derived quorum dependencies, credit window and base coinbase #7593 bounds it per type through the validated payload's coverage, so types disabled at B, types enabled after B, and pre-DIP3 bases do not stall. How Has This Been Tested?

It is a test race that develop also hits (2 of 36 runs there, 2 of 12 here, reproduced on Linux with CI's ASan flags), not caused by this PR.I did not run a local release-config build. The new checks are plain throws, not
Assume, so they run in every build, and CI builds the release configurations.Breaking Changes
User-visible changes, including with a single chainstate:
BLOCK_FAILED_VALID. This also applies to NORMAL on a pruned node. A real disk read failure keeps its old handling. A stalled block stays refused until restart, or until its view changes. Import,ActivateBestChain, ChainLock enforcement and InstantSend log the stall and continue instead of aborting.submitblockfor a block whose connection stalls returnsRPC_VERIFY_ERROR"evo-local-unavailable" (previously "inconclusive"). A relaying peer is neither punished nor credited.AcceptToMemoryPool,ProcessNewPackage, and sosendrawtransaction/wallet broadcast) returns an error result (evo-local-unavailable;MEMPOOL_ERRORfromBroadcastTransaction) instead of an exception or, for the asset-unlock precheck, afailed-getcreditpoolreject.RPC_INTERNAL_ERROR(REST: its handler wrapper) instead of escaping or being reported as data.-reindex-chainstate. A published generation whose deployment/LLMQ configuration fingerprint no longer matches is refused.Otherwise, behaviour with one chainstate is unchanged.
