Horizon 1.2.0 hides OTLP_VIRTUAL_GATEWAY by default next to FAAS and VIRTUAL_GATEWAY (apache/skywalking-horizon-ui#215). OAP 11.2.0 puts a gateway listed in gateways.yml in that layer when the services around it report OTLP traces (apache/skywalking#14200). The HORIZON_LAYERS_EXCLUDED example replaces the whole default list, so it now names the new key as well; a key for a layer OAP does not report hides nothing, so the example still works on older Horizon and OAP.

Horizon 1.2.0 adds
OTLP_VIRTUAL_GATEWAYto the layers it hides from the sidebar by default, next toFAASandVIRTUAL_GATEWAY(apache/skywalking-horizon-ui#215). OAP 11.2.0 puts a gateway listed in itsgateways.ymlin that layer when the services around it report OTLP traces (apache/skywalking#14200).docs/ui/configure.md: the paragraph onHORIZON_LAYERS_EXCLUDEDnames the new default, and the example lists it. The variable replaces the whole default list, so an install that copied the old example to hide one more layer would show the OTLP gateway layer again. A key for a layer OAP does not report hides nothing, so the example still works on Horizon 1.0.0 and older OAP.docs/changes/changes.md: a 5.1.0 Documentation entry.Docs only; the chart and its defaults are unchanged. The chart still pins Horizon 1.0.0, so the text says "from Horizon 1.2.0".
