## Which issue does this PR close? - Part of the 55.0.0 release: apache#22393 ## Rationale for this change Now that DataFusion 55.0.0 has been released from `branch-55`, bring the version bump and release notes back to `main` so the changelog and version numbers are consistent. ## What changes are included in this PR? Cherry-picks the release commits from `branch-55`: - apache#24292 (version number, changelog) - apache#24295 (additional version references) - apache#24314 (changelog update) - apache#24385 (changelog update) ## Are these changes tested? By CI (version/docs/changelog changes only) ## Are there any user-facing changes? Version on `main` is now `55.0.0` and `dev/changelog/55.0.0.md` is added --------- Co-authored-by: Tim Saucer <timsaucer@gmail.com>
