Can't open opencode at all. Stuck with some system information. #836
Hello, I reinstalled opencode (i had it installed a few days ago but didnt have a key, so uninstalled it at the time) but it gets stuck with this info.
There's likely some cache somewhere, but not sure. I tried brew and npm install.
~/.local/share/, ~/.cache/, and ~/.config/ do not have an opencode folder within.
Whether I install it with npm or brew i always get stuck with this system information after executing opencode:
I use nvm, so when i install through npm it's this: /Users/<name>/.nvm/versions/node/v22.14.0/bin/opencode (and this is an alias to /Users/<name>/.nvm/versions/node/v22.14.0/lib/node_modules/opencode-ai/node_modules/opencode-darwin-x64/bin/opencode)
When i install through brew it's this: /usr/local/bin/opencode (alias to /usr/local/Cellar/opencode/0.2.25/bin/opencode)
Both print that system info.
Two things that might be important (or probably nothing):
the other day I also installed the other 'opencode' that is out there (but now uninstalled)
my node lazy loads, although i doubt that's the issue (zsh-nvm). Even if i force it to load in the session beforehand, it results in the same thing.
I had to uninstall brew because of an unrelated issue in order to install packages for arm64 instead of x86_64 (with rosetta), and im happy to report that after installing opencode again, it now opens properly!
hi @Apidcloud, thanks for sharing this! I actually ran into the exact same issue you mentioned. Curious what the "unrelated issue" was that led you to uninstall brew? I’m wondering if i’m hitting the same thing. Would really appreciate any details on what you did to fix it for arm64! 🙏
Really just uninstalled the x86_64 brew version and installed it again but for arm64, along with all packages. The unrelated issue is degraded performance when booting up chrome from the terminal: microsoft/playwright#17193
The issue with opencode for me seemed to be related with some caching, as reinstalling brew (and opencode), and also nvm and node, it started working. I remember it stopped working after I reinstalled nvm and node (still on x86_64), so maybe even a symlink issue?
