[FEATURE]: Project browser with readable names and auto-naming #30535: Project browser with readable names and auto-naming — requests a project overview, auto-generated project names, and better project-switching UX, which overlaps significantly with your request for project categorization and session organization.
Thanks for the automated check. However, my request introduces a distinct
and critical workflow improvement that differentiates it from the mentioned
issues (such as #29455 or #21590).
While those issues focus on manual tagging or basic session organization,
my proposal emphasizes a **context-aware automation**: the UI should
**automatically switch the project view based on the current working
directory** when a user opens OpenCode in different project paths.
This prevents users from getting lost across multiple ongoing project
sessions (similar to the seamless project-to-session hierarchy found in
Claude Desktop or Codex). I believe this directory-linked context switching
is unique and highly necessary for developers managing multiple workspaces.
This is just my suggestion to help improve the tool, but it is completely
fine if the team decides not to adopt it. Thank you for your time and
response!
