    Same problem here, using 1.2.25 installed via npm on Windows 11.

    I downgraded to 1.2.24 using npm install -g opencode-ai@1.2.24 and that fixed the issue for now.

    I ran into the same issue on v1.2.26 (Windows 11, WSL Ubuntu 22.04).
    It works fine after downgrading to v1.2.24.

    The solution is:
    1、Ensure the model's response time is less than 2 minutes.
    2、Set a separate timeout for the provider.

    "provider": {
    "github-copilot": {
    "options": {
    "timeout": 600000,
    "chunkTimeout": 600000
    }
    }
    }

    I had the issue with macOS, opencode 1.2.27 and followed suggestions above to bump up the timeouts. It did not help as I still ended up with a timeout error at approximately the same step each time and I decided to reboot the computer and try again.

    Rebooted, started opencode entered the same prompt.

    Unlike before the reboot the prompt processing was interrupted with a request to give a permission to access a directory needed for processing with possible options to allow once, always allow, deny. It was at the moment I would get a timeout before the reboot. The prompt continued and finished after I provided the necessary permission.

    Based on this I think opencode might need to add some more handling when the OS asks for permissions.

    Same error 1.2.27.
    sometimes timeout at 5min, sometimes 5s.
    'timeout' and 'chunktimeout' options didnt help,
    A total nonsense in local development, with slow servers, or large research.
    These continuous timeout errors make opencode totally unusable.
    Had to "upgrade" to 1.2.24.

    I also had this ploblem, but it doesn't work in webui. it works fine in tui. And upgrade to 1.2.24 webui also works bad, webui show it's opencode desktop version keep in 1.2.27.

    @rekram1-node why this issue has been closed ? problem still happens on 1.14.22

    @adamskrodzki the issue was caused by a default SSE chunk timeout of 5 minutes. It was disabled over a month ago. If you are facing a similar issue it is different cause than this or it is a regression.

    Consider sharing your config and open a new issue if you are still facing

  24. adamskrodzki commented on Apr 28, 2026

    @adamskrodzki

    Thank you for the response Problem was solved once I've set

    "provider": {
    "minimax": {
    "options": {
    "timeout": 1800000,
    "chunkTimeout": 120000
    },

    which maybe is a regression because I understand that once I've set "chunkTimeout": 120000 requests get retry after 2 min without response from server ?

    This error was occurring for me on some high-stress workflow, many agents in parallel running requests to the same provider (MiniMax)

    Funny how often this happens when qwe3.8 27b takes ages to create long files...

  26. Lamamanx commented on Sep 15, 2026

    @Lamamanx

    @sbe-arg I haven't had this issue for ages, even with the new Qwen3.8 27b thinking.
