<!-- specsync:change=keybind-mode-clarity --> # Clarify keyboard shortcuts and mode semantics ## Problem - `Shift+Tab` currently cycles agents (`agent_cycle_reverse`) in the TUI - Claude Code uses `Shift+Tab` to toggle run modes (manual/auto) - There is no keyboard shortcut to toggle auto mode (`auto_mode` + `auto_continue`) in the TUI - The distinction between agent mode cycling and run mode cycling is confusing ## Current state Keybindings from `packages/tui/src/config/keybind.ts`: - `agent_cycle`: `tab` — "Next agent" - `agent_cycle_reverse`: `shift+tab` — "Previous agent" Auto mode configuration: - `auto_mode`: auto-approves tool permission prompts - `auto_continue`: auto-continues session turns - No single shortcut toggles both ## Fix 1. **Define what Shift+Tab does** — keep it as agent cycling for consistency with Tab cycling, OR change it to match Claude Code's behavior. Decision needed. 2. **Add a shortcut to toggle auto mode** — propose `ctrl+shift+m` or `<leader>m` for "Toggle auto mode" (enables both `auto_mode` and `auto_continue`) 3. **Document the distinction** — update keybindings docs to clearly separate "agent mode" from "run mode" ## Verification - Update `packages/tui/src/config/keybind.ts` with new keybinding - Update `packages/web/src/content/docs/keybinds.mdx` and translations - Ensure the TUI command palette shows the new keybinding ## Tasks # Tasks - [ ] 1. Audit current keybindings in `packages/tui/src/config/keybind.ts` - [ ] 2. Decide: does Shift+Tab stay as agent cycling, or change to match Claude Code? - [ ] 3.
