Add support for additional keyboard shortcuts in the toolbox / flyout #10187

Problem

We are passing feedback we received previously onwards:

Using eye gaze with keyboard-only emulation, it takes a really long time to find things in the toolbox, particularly bearing in mind you have to look away from the toolbox to trigger a "down" action.

Request

Please consider adding support for additional keyboard shortcuts in the toolbox / flyout.

  • Page Down: move focus to the last currently-visible block, and scroll down so that the newly focused block is at the top to give assurance that you haven't missed anything
  • Page Up: as above, but reversed
  • Home: Focus the first item in the toolbox / flyout and scroll into view
  • End: Focus the last item in the toolbox / flyout and scroll into view

Normal Page Up / Down use would normally just scroll, but there is value in moving focus at same time for eye gaze users, low vision users, and screen reader users.

I think it would be OK to use Ctrl/Cmd + Home and Ctrl/Cmd + End to align with the additional shortcut behaviour in the workspace.

Alternatives considered

The search feature could be use to get around this problem, but is not always available and seen as a barrier to beginner or less literate users and less confident typists.
