PPT data collection thread #124

Description

@NeroReflex

This is the continuation of https://gitlab.com/asus-linux/asusctl/-/work_items/564

The purpose of this thread is to collect data for power limits for devices for which the limits have not been added yet to the kernel.

Important

Anything posted that is irrelevant to this thread will have consequences and the moderators are free to decide what to do with anything off topic or large messages such as LLM output dumps.

In order to add a device that doesn't exist yet, please send the ThrottleGear xml file from Armoury Crate in Windows, which can be found in the path below, where board_name is the the board name of your laptop.

C:\ProgramData\ASUS\Armoury Crate Config\Data\ThrottleGear_{board_name}.xml

Alternatively screenshots of the limits in both AC and DC modes as given in the original GitLab issue. Throttlegear XML is preferred and is the easier of the 2 options.

Verify first

  1. What is your board name?
cat /sys/devices/virtual/dmi/id/board_name
  1. Is it already added to the asus-armoury driver?
    Search for it here. If your board name or a subset of your board example (Eg: G835L instead of G835LW) exists, your device already has limits added

  2. Is it already sent by someone else in this thread?
    If it has already been sent, it is currently being upstreamed to the kernel and will be available in a future kernel update.
