📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • When creating a Lucene provider fails because its constructor encounters an error, the reported failure now reflects the underlying cause. Other construction errors continue to use the existing error handling. This makes failures easier to identify when a provider cannot be created, while preserving the existing behavior for other errors. The change applies consistently across provider construction methods.

Walkthrough

Seven reflective-constructor factory methods in LuceneProvider now catch InvocationTargetException separately and pass its cause to Utils.handleThrowable. Other exceptions retain the existing logging and rethrow path.

A vector-format constructor failure can still fail initialization, but its underlying cause may no longer appear in logs, slowing diagnosis and recovery. Restoring the operation-specific logs is a small, bounded fix.

Log constructor failures before unwrapping them.

InvocationTargetException is handled before the existing SEVERE logging catch. The reachable format callers only rethrow the result, and static initialization reduces it to ExceptionInInitializerError(e.getMessage()). A reflective constructor failure can therefore lose the provider operation context and original cause. Add the existing operation-specific log before Utils.handleThrowable(e.getCause()) in all seven handlers.

Apply the same logging call with the existing operation-specific message in the other six InvocationTargetException handlers.
