Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I wish I could serialize and de-serialize indexes using the cuVS rust crate.

Describe the solution you'd like
Idiomatic and safe rust crate bindings to underlying *Serialize/*Deserialize functions.

I've opened a PR to add serialization/deserialization support for the CAGRA Rust bindings: #1840

This adds serialize(), serialize_to_hnswlib(), and deserialize() methods to cagra::Index, wrapping the existing C API functions that were not yet exposed in Rust. Includes round-trip tests and documentation.

I've submitted a PR to address this: #1840

The PR adds serialize() and deserialize() methods to the Rust CAGRA Index API, matching the existing functionality in the C/C++ API.

This is critical for production use cases where:

    • CAGRA indexes need to persist across service restarts
    • Building a fresh index on startup is too slow (especially for large datasets)
    • High-availability deployments require pre-built indexes

Happy to iterate on the implementation based on feedback!
