React.StrictMode throws warning because of findDOMNode use聽#1222

Description

@kodai3

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe 馃檹

react-dom findDOMNode is derecated and will be removed in next major version update.
react/react#14357
react/react#28926

Because of this it throws warning.

Warning: findDOMNode is deprecated in StrictMode. findDOMNode was passed an instance of StyledComponent which is inside StrictMode. Instead, add a ref directly to the element you want to reference.

Now React 19 is released as beta.
This package will block us from upgrading.

Describe the solution you'd like 馃

We have to update the logic without using them.

    @omgoshjosh

    Is there any way to know what to do here? It doesn't seem like this project is abandoned entirely, but it does seem like it's not very active?

    This is affecting me too, went to go fix this issue via a commit but saw the project is still using older React Class Components and I gave up. Just confirmed that the package https://visgl.github.io/react-google-maps (which is now officially suggested by Google), is working in my project (React 19 / Next 15), tested "basic" and "marker" examples. Here is a good guide to start using a package that works, https://developers.google.com/codelabs/maps-platform/maps-platform-101-react-js. No disrespect to the author by sharing other packages, but just got my project updated to Next 15 and React 19 and every package worked besides this package so needed a solution today.
