Current state: Claude Code's built-in auto-memory system (MEMORY.md) and the per-user persistent memory for public links (MEM-001, #147) address the core need of "Have I solved this before?" within individual agent contexts.
Full vectorized episodic memory (embedding conversations, semantic retrieval) remains unimplemented. Given the maturity of Claude Code's context management and the 1M context window now available, the ROI of a platform-level vector memory system is lower than when this was filed.
Recommendation: Keep open at P3 as a future enhancement, but deprioritize. The practical need is mostly met by Claude Code's native memory + large context windows.
Closing as speculation — one-sentence body ("Auto-store conversations for 'Have I solved this before?' queries.") with no acceptance criteria, no scope. Adjacent territory is actively being explored by #380 USER-MEMORY (P2, in progress) and the per-user memory write surface (MEM-001, #888). Re-open or file a fresh issue if a concrete episodic-memory requirement emerges that isn't covered by those. Reference: backlog lean review on 2026-05-28.
